Famous Parts: Custom SL500 (based on Mercedes-Benz SL-Class) news
Press release...
The Mercedes SL simply refuses to go out of style. It has apparently been the number one in the Mercedes scene for many years. Just look at the offers that various specialist tuners have for the cult roadster.
Famous Parts from Ratingen near Düsseldorf presents a particularly well-done conversion on SL500-Basis. The tuner gave the roadster a complete Prior Design wide body car body kit comprising of front and tail bumper, side sills, a new motor cowl, front mudguards and rear side wall widening. The kit is completed by a facelift for the outer mirrors, new headlights and a rear spoiler. To match the wintry season, Famous Parts applied "white pearl matte metallic" film to the car body. The serial ABC-chassis is lowered by an electronic module that also permits manual height adjustment. Type III FPX rims turn in the wheel box: 8.5x20 inch with 255/30R20 in front and 11x20 inch with 295/25R20 Continental Sport Contact tyres in the rear. For the wheel rims to perfectly meet the mudguard edges, the H&R specialists also installed spacer discs all around. An upgrade has also been applied to the exhaust system. The rear section of big brother SL63 AMG has been attached to the original 500 tubes. Famous Parts painted some car body parts matte-black and applied a dark film coat on the rear window of the panorama roof to contrast with the snowy white outer shell.
