Hmm, I kinda like it.
I wonder if its the new SRT....the size/shape looks pretty similar to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. But the underspoiler looks like the previous gen Jeep SRT.
I drove the new GC yesterday...that thing is freaking nice. Probably one of the nicest SUVs on the market right now, when its fully loaded.

Wow, these Chrysler products are starting to look pretty appealing! I'm digging that Durango. Saw the review of the Grand Cherokee on Motorweek and it's a damn nice vehicle...very upscale looking. I'd consider one for sure...

But this new Dodge is supposed to be much larger like the 2004-2009 model to suit those who might be looking at a Traverse or Expedition. And I don't think any SRT version will materialize, not for a big SUV.
Chrysler just needs to move quicker. New Sebring, new 300, new volume and more affordable vehicles!

I drove a Grand Cherokee limited yesterday with the V8.
It was SUPER nice. Drove like a dream, interior design was clean and easy. Exterior was classy.
I think its a home run and I hope sales take off.

I merely saw a new black loaded GC earlier this week at a light. Next to it was a GX470 and behind the GC was a Touareg V8. Let me say that without the badges on all of those vehicles the Jeep gives up nothing in rugged class to those vehicles.

The durgano doesnt have quality and reliability associated with it.
And magnum makes people think of the wagon (which I liked, but most didnt)
It needs a new a name or a revival name such as the RAM Charger.
And it IS going to be built on the new GC platform...but stretched, so it will be bigger.

The tailights annoy me. Not only do they remind me of the odessy but they are too close to looking like Jeeps. Couldnt they are least design the rear more so it didnt have the same design cues!?

I dont like the wheels and rear is too jeep-ish as pointed out.
But I really like it overall. I would definitely consider it for a family vehicle (and with third row seating and twins on the way...it might be a consideration.)
I just want real interior pics. Ive only see the peek at the steering wheel.
PS: Im surprised it took this long to get this on here, I saw them days ago

I like the exterior, save the abundance of chrome; it's much better than the Jeep and the Explorer. The interior is impressive. Dodge came to prepared with this one.

Just spent the last two weeks driving around the DC/NoVa area with one of these as my rental.
Avis rents the Crew trim...with is about in the middle...but its still pretty loaded, back up cam, keyless start/entry/auto lift gate, climate control, etc.
I freaking loved this thing. I only had the V6. It could feel a tad anemic at times...but honestly it got the job done and quite well. 290hp, 300tq...I had plenty of go, and using the auto stick, I always had plenty of passing power.
I also ALWAYS had the AC blowing super cold on the LO setting because of the humidity and heat.
With all that I averaged 20 mpg combined driving. An estimated tank with get you about 500 miles according to the computer...I got about 305 miles with 3/4 tank left at my first fill up...and mind you I usually had my wife and two car seats with me...at times, I also had 3 other passengers...even with a FULLY LOADED car...I still had good driving power and only dropped down to about 18-19mpg. I was pretty impressed.
Its a very comfortable vehicle. I had previously driven a citadel v8 model on a closed course for about about 60 secs....The handling is nice and tight with great steering feedback, with the new improvements dodge has made with all the suspensions in their vehicles, the steering ratio is better than my 2010 challenger.
I was in this SUV a lot. Well over 1000 miles in two weeks. I really really liked it. If I could afford another new vehicle, I would seriously get one. Of course I would want a higher trim level and the 5.7 Hemi...but as a family hauler for twins...this thing was awesome, and really fun to drive.

It looks good with the RT package...but the base model looks awfully plain. IMO after seeing it in person The Explorer just looks much better inside/out and has better power-train options.

I very much like the explorer as well, but its a whole different look. Its a much more futuristic design. The interior is VERY nice in them as well. I really dig the "touch" active buttons.
But they are in two different classes. The Durango is much larger than the Explorer. The Flex is more on par size wise (ride height/suspension being the biggest difference.)
I had initially reserved a minivan (was interested in driving around a caravan with the new 3.6 engine) but when I got to avis I saw they had Flex's and I got excited and said I would take that....But THEN I saw the Durango hiding behind another car and said...OK...gotta go with that.
At some point I would still love to try the Flex.
