Delahaye USA: Pacific news **2014 Revealed (page 1)**

Press release...

Scheduled to debut at RETRO AUTO in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Aug. 13-15 in Monterey, CA, DELAHAYE USA's new carbon fiber bodied “BELLA FIGURA” BUGNOTTI was inspired by the classic Type 57S. This is not a real Bugatti, but our tribute to Ettore’s son Jean. In development for more than a year using digital technology from REVOLUTION DESIGN STUDIOS combined with the latest state of the art vacuum infusion process from carbon fiber specialists 3 G SERVICES INC., we will offer a “carbon fiber finish” where you can see the weave of the cloth through a clear coat. Or you can have your choice of a painted body of carbon fiber and composite, or all composite. Available as “turnkeys” or the bare body and rolling frame for the build-it-yourself enthusiast, you can order a coupe, a drophead coupe with folding convertible top mechanism or a targa-top version.

As soon as I saw "bugnotti" and "type 57S" I figured this was a Bugatti clone.

Nice looking car though.

Post 2014 Delahaye USA Pacific

Press release...

The most beautiful Atlantic that was never built, until now:
From the outset, we didn't want to build an exact replica of the Atlantic. Artisans like Erik Kouk, Jean De Dobbeleer, Crayville, and others have done admirable work faithfully reproducing the 1937 classic. Instead, our goal was to build a modern, stylized tribute to the 57S that still respected Jean Bugatti's original vision. The Pacific is the result.

Chassis & Body

With an 127-inch wheelbase, the Pacific's custom steel-tube chassis measures ten inches longer than the 1937 original. Cook's design gives the Pacific a masterful road presence with substantially more driver and passenger room. Building the body from composite let us realize the Pacific's design without the cost and time consumption typically associated with all-metal builds.

Drivetrain

A fuel-injected 4,988 cc (304 cubic inch) BMW 12-cylinder motor mated to an electronically controlled four-speed BMW automatic transmission provides power to the Pacific.

Suspension

Both the tubular-beam front axle and the nine-inch Ford differential employ leaf springs to give the Pacific a smooth ride. The wire wheels are 3.5 x 19 shod with 3.50/4.00-19 radial tires up front (and spare). The rear hosts 5 x 20 wire wheels with 4.75/5.00-20 radial tires.

Interior

The stainless steel tubular seat frames are exact copies of those from Ralph Lauren's Bugatti* Atlantic. We fitted the seats with a richly decorative brocaded fabric trimmed with color-contrasting welting. The doors, dashboard and remainder of the interior are trimmed in supple hide and Mercedes Benz-quality carpeting. Power windows, brakes, steering and air conditioning are standard.

Delahaye USA “Pacific” at Amelia Island, FL Concours d’Elegance and Seabrook, TX Keels & Wheels Auction

After four years of work, Delahaye USA of Long Valley, NJ is presenting the “Pacific”, their carbon fiber and fiberglass bodied tribute to Ralph Lauren’s fabled 40 million dollar Type 57sc 1938 Bugatti Atlantic.

Designed with a ten inch longer 127-inch wheelbase, the car can comfortably fit a 6 foot 11 inch tall NBA player with big shoulders! This first Pacific is powered by an aluminum fuel-injected 304 cubic inch twelve cylinder BMW M70B50 SOHC. Transmission is a BMW 4HP24 EH four-speed automatic with electronic control. The car has power windows and AC.

The PACIFIC is For Sale

The Pacific will be exhibited in Amelia Island, FL at Cars and Coffee on Sat. March 8 and on the show field in the Midway near the lake at the far end of the show field at Sunday’s Concours d’Eelgance.

If it is not sold at the Amelia Island Concours Mar. 9, it is entered in the MOTOSTALGIA Classic Car Auction Friday evening May 2nd at the Lakewood Yacht Club, 2425 NASA Parkway in Seabrook, TX. This is part of the KEELS & WHEELS Concours d’Elegance that will take place that weekend. You do not have to be present to bid as absentee remote bidding can be arranged in advance (complementary) by calling 512 813 0636, extn. 700 or go to www.motostalgia.com and click the Bid Registration tab. Contact Antonio Brunet at antonio@motostalgia.com. The auction will be broadcast live online so you can watch and bid from anywhere in the world.

When it was exhibited at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas, nine different people told the owner “That’s the best looking car here!”

Build Your Own!

We are proud to offer two versions of our fiberglass 1937 Type 57S Bugatti bodies, the Bella Figura coupe and Pacific fastback in kit form. We also offer a rolling chassis. Visit our web site for details and pricing.

Interesting, aside from the upholstery. And does it really need 12 exhaust outlets?
