SEMA Peek: Chrysler's GT Cruiser Coupe concept hints at future design cues

By AUTOWEEK

Automakers know there’s one big problem with creating a hit vehicle: What do you do for a follow up? When it comes to the PT Cruiser, Chrysler suggests one possibility in the form of the GT Cruiser Coupe concept the company will show at next month’s Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas.

The two-door coupe is built from a two-door PT convertible. With suspension and drivetrain borrowed from the Dodge SRT-4, the GT Cruiser Coupe is powered by a 255-hp, 2.4-liter turbo four linked to a five-speed manual transmission driving 19-inch wheels.

Don’t look for the coupe—or its 900-watt, 18-speaker sound system—to make production, but take note of the Crossfire design cues that will likely find their way into future Chrysler models.
