For some reason a majority (NOT ALL) of the drivers of those cars I've come across on the road just don't know how to drive worth shyt!

Drink all the haterade you want. I love my car. And besides, its not difficult to take nice looking cars and make them nicer. Ive attempted to polish a turd.

But honestly, its a very functional vehicle that is very affordable. Chrysler did well

The original is suite. The current one is too feminine - even for a girl.

People have been asking for a panel version since 2001.

And I have all the oomph I need. Any more torque and this thing would be nearly undriveable for a FWD. With Stage I the numbers are 240/260.

The 5 speeds are running 12s with nitrous and big turbos. Its hilarious.

Think while it was very unique at start it has become old. Something like the california concept I thought were pretty cool looking...

Chrysler officially kills the PT Cruiser

The Chrysler PT Cruiser was one hot item when it launched back in 2000 – with many dealers selling the retro tall wagon for over sticker price – but the Cruiser has languished without any significant updates in the subsequent years, transforming it from a sales stud to a sales dud. But the pain will soon be over for the PT Cruiser as Chrysler has confirmed it will send the nameplate out to pasture later this year.

The death of the PT Cruiser marks the seventh nameplate axed under Cerberus’ lead. Cerberus-owned Chrysler has already nixed the Dodge Magnum and Durango and the Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible, Aspen, Crossfire and Pacifica. The PT Cruiser will cease production this summer.

However, it remains possible that the once popular model could live on – albeit in foreign markets. Just as Chrysler sold the rights of the previous-generation Sebring to Russia’s GAZ, the Michigan automaker is currently shopping around the rights to produce the PT Cruiser. However, Chrysler vice chairman Tom LaSorda told The Detroit News that Chrysler has “not seen any formal proposal from the Japanese or Koreans or Chinese for buying any assets.”

This is just sad. The PT Cruiser was such a hot seller when it came out in the 2001 model year, but they let it get old by not changing it through the 2009 model year.

So instead of adding a new design 4-5 years in (other than the interior), owners were left to their own devices to try and differentiate their Cruisers from the rest of the crowd...like this horrid beast :

We've rented a few PT convertibles while on vacation and they were always fun vehicles. We also drove a PT Cruiser GT with the SRT-4 turbo and damn that thing was quick.

my noob ass high school friend bought one long time ago, even though i told her not to.. I've only driven it once, and it was like driving a rock, literally, a rock.

It's easily one of the worst cars I've ever driven.

i remember some kid in my high school had one and was constantly teased and called, "PT Loser." The outcome? The car was totalled from kids throwing kegs on the car. the kid eventually had elective surgery to pin his ears back due to another nickname: dumbo.

this all stemmed from a purchase of the PT cruiser. haha. thought id share that.

Good riddance. Tested out a turbo version just for kicks back in 03. It was fast. But it was like putting a jet engine in a row boat. Still remember the sticker price too 23k
