Sports cars should have 3 spoke steering wheels. I do think this car is hot, I can consider the C5 and really consider the C6. But for all their pumping up the interior, it really looks okay, nothing special, typical GM.

Overall this car is an A though.

Which car in the photos here http://www.z06fest.com/c6.html

has the heads up projected display of the tach? CTS?
That's pretty tight. Japanese cars should do that too.

Most likely the CTS since Caddy has a NightVision system that projects the image onto the windscreen like that.

Also, Lexus has it available on their LX470, so the Japs are on it already.

Yep, yep... I was goldmember originally, but I made a thread about how to screw up the tranny (was seriously curious) and my account suddenly "didn't work." I'll use more tact and beating around the bush next time.

No argument can defend this super ugly steering wheel.

I just hope they're keeping the sexy steering wheel for the Z06 C6.

Why not one of the Vettes? I thought Vettes had that as an option for a long time now. No?

Yeah, cusdaddy beat me to it, but Vettes have it too, but for some reason I thought it looked different... no idea why.

I saw that on the road, minus the hood scoop. It had huge fender flares, wide ass wheels, and was flat black.

I'm really thinking this will be my next car. I'm waiting for the Z06 version to come out and see what that brings, but I'd be happy with the regular one. Either way I won't be getting a first year model again, I learned that from the CL.

It's also good to see that you won't be charged extra for the type of tranny you pick. I'd get an auto if it's the regular 'vette, I do too much driving in traffic.

An auto vette just seems ... like a waste. And I'm an auto guy myself.

Sweet car, this C6.

You can go watch your car being built, you pick it up at the corvette plant. Pretty cool actually, I know I'm leaving a bunch of other details out but thats the jist of it.

Thank you Rod. That answers my q.

So bottom line, high $40Ks for a well equipped coupe and high $50Ks for a well equipped cabrio. Still a deal when a Crossfire SRT6 commands almost $50K.

i think trannys with fewer gears are better when dealing with tons of torque, as is the case with the vette engines.

They claim that they haven't got the new 5-speed auto ready for the LS2 ... personally I think that's inexcusable.

I think they'll upgrade the auto tranny after a year or two. They always leave stuff that can be upgraded at some point to help market the car...not that I see this 'Vette having any trouble selling.

Base price for 2005 C6 Corvette to be less than outgoing model - - Source: Autoweek

No matter how you look at it, the sticker price for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette is good news. In raw numbers, the price of a 2005 base coupe drops by $390 to $44,245 (including $800 destination charge).

Because you get a standard six-speed manual tranny, which costs extra on the ’04 model, Chevy says the real savings is $1,305. Similarly, Chevy says you’ll save $305 on a convertible model listed at $52,245 compared to an ’04 equipped with the optional manual gearbox.

Either way, for less money you get the next version of the car AutoWeek readers voted “America’s Best Sports Car” (AW, July 5) in an all-new wrapper with a 400-hp, 400-lb-ft 6.0-liter V8.

I am not sure how reliable the above is but supposedly this above is the next Z06 car. The wheels looks larger than those on the C6 but I am confused by the T Tops. You'd think the next Z06 would be a coupe.
