no more hidden headlamps

dets 10-06-2003 07:33 PM

nice...... like the curves

Red Nj-s 10-06-2003 09:56 PM

slamming as hell

Aquineas 10-07-2003 12:41 AM

Looks awesome; though I think it would look much better in another color. That beige just reminds me too much of 1977.

mblock66 10-07-2003 03:56 AM

Z06 is going to be the one to beat on the streets now no matter how much $ you have. Maybe the Lambo Merc can take it out but that will be a close race too for $450,000 less hahah.

Buying hte new Z06 is a win/win as far as price/performance goes. Nothing tops it

danny25 10-07-2003 05:46 AM

not bad, very retro

And to add to that, the Z06 actually gets better mileage than the base C5. Think about that.
And with displacement on demand, let us not forget, that car will be running like a ~3.15L 4 banger when you are just 'puttering around' (if that's possible with a Vette) ;)

gavriil 10-07-2003 07:35 AM

True.

LegendC 10-07-2003 08:08 AM

Robust.

uh huh :) emissions wise i'm not going to argue but don't tell me that a big displacement v8 will net the same MPG than my v6. Don't give me suggested number by the car makers.

Gilgamesh 10-07-2003 04:19 PM

The current Vette gets 20-25 in the real world, if not driven with a lead foot. 1-4 skip and a 6th gear ratio that has you revving between 1500-2000 at 70 or so helps. This is from the real world, I have driven a 2000 C5 6MT Vert on many occasions. To Phoenix and back the trip computer reported 27.5 MPG and math at the pump gave us 27.457. Within the city the computer has shown 20~25 consistently, though that has never been verified at a pump. The car is still fairly new, though, only 9k or so on the clock today.

CLS2001_97124 10-09-2003 07:57 AM

Wow, I thought it couldn't get any better...

Gilgamesh 10-09-2003 01:36 PM

That car is nasty, mean, and gritty looking...totally has a 'don't F*ck with me' look about it.

NOVAwhiteTypeS 10-13-2003 12:29 PM

Neech 10-13-2003 03:28 PM

Very Japanese-looking

cusdaddy 10-13-2003 04:21 PM

Can you guess what this is???

:butthead:

acuraboy_RENAMED 10-15-2003 02:51 AM

i don't get it...this c6 looks like it shares the exact same chassis as the c5....seems like its just a re-freshening vs a re-engineering

charliemike 10-15-2003 04:08 AM

I can't see the picture, can you make it bigger?

:)

acuraboy_RENAMED 10-15-2003 04:13 AM

lolol

95gt 10-15-2003 05:27 AM

Hmmm could it be a 6 year old photo of the C5?

nope it is the "brand new model".

Not much of a change for that boy

JRock 10-15-2003 05:39 AM

I bet they took a torch to a wax model of a C5 and melted and drooped the edges and such so now it'll look like complete ass. That's what all the spy shots give the impression of.

danny25 10-15-2003 05:48 AM

those spy shots don't excite me very much, hopefully it's just because that camo is doing it's job and I'll be amazed when it's finally released... hopefully.

SiGGy 10-15-2003 08:25 AM

We have seen those shots alreadys... (REPOST)

Looks like another parts bin GM to me, a C5 with a face lift...

go GM...

I'll wait until we see uncovered shots, but I doubt my opinion will change...

Crazy Bimmer 10-15-2003 10:14 AM

i dont care if they dont change the exterior, just fix the damn interior!!

This WAS in MT like 2 months ago...

AmericanMuscle 10-15-2003 02:03 PM

Don't be fooled becuz the body cues are similar to what's out. It's underpinning is all new.

HOLY SHIT IT'S A REPOST!!!

WATCH ME POST IT AGAIN.

Ok, whatever:rolleyes: Just because its "underpinning" is all new doesn't mean that it still won't look like another GM design that is already 15 years old when it hits the showroom floor. At least give it an interior that is better than Hyundai...that would be a start!

Acura could stand to do the same with that POS NSX.

HMMMM.... (Imagine it being said like busta in "light ya ass on fire"

NSX is not a POS, outdated yes, but POS... no
the umm, lil V6 keeps up the the 340hp C5...

There isn't any hatred in this thread...

Were just sick of seeing a parts bin GM...

I want it to look like the old stingray... that was a badass bodystyle...

AmericanMuscle 10-15-2003 03:56 PM

Yeah the NSX "KEEPS UP" with the 345(earlier C5's) and 350 (03-04 C5's) for about $30K more....

HMMMMM.... (imagine it being said like busta in "light ya ass on fire"

Easy buddy, eaaaasyyy! You post an old pick of a car and now you're putting down NSX? I thought that this forum had a user age minimum put in place
