They are nearly identical.

PS is German for HP, "pferdestarke"

1 ps = 0.98632 hp

oh come on. This could possibly be very true, but will Honda really go with the turbo? They can easily make a 350-400 HP V6. Now, torque may be where they want to improve, so the V8 would do well here. a high-revving 4.0L V8 can get up to 500 HP if done right. Look at what Honda did to a 3.0L V6 back in 1990, 276 HP. That was pretty damn good for the early 90's and a maker that didn't produce their own V6 until very late (was that their first?) If they want to Turbocharge, I guess its because they know better than us. But the beauty of a Honda engine is its High-Revving, tons of HP: Displacement factor. Just my opinion. Here are some thumbnails of the improved HSC (hopefully resemble something real, because these are damn hot)..

I hope to see these specs from the new NSX-R...

-480 HP/ 420 Lb./ft. Tq. 4.0L V8
- curb weight; 1,750 lbs.
- weight distribution of 49-51
- the best 6MT ever made!
- 0-60 in 4 seconds

I do hope the NSX can beat anything else on the straight-away, but they MUST (and of course, will) keep in mind what it can do on the track. This thing can beat V8 supercars and barely lose to v10s and v12s. I love the NSX-R, but it does need a change. As Top Gear said, they took an incredible car and made it into "an engineer's play thing."
