Chloe @ 17mo
If they were selling the Insignia here, I would consider them. It's not a brand thing for me, it's an offering issue. Though I'm still prejudiced against any Korean cars....

I think it's mostly because GM is doing what they should have done all along. Offering good cars that they're already making in the European markets to US customers.

This is the best looking American sedan I think I have ever seen. Everything from the inside out is just gorgeous! I want to buy one of these things right now!!!
And whoever said those wheels are ugly is either high or retarded! One of the best OEM wheel designs I have ever seen (and I believe they are 20's)....

The Insignia is coming up on the start of its third model year so this may have a relatively short model run - 2 or 3 years - if they keep basing it on the Insignia. I assume like the Astra this will be imported from Europe so GM will be under financial/political pressure to move manufacturing to the US. When that happens the design may revert back to some bland domestic look.

^ I'll be in the market for a new car in the next 6-12 months and will definitely check the Regal GS.
Edit: Come to think of it my list is mainly American cars, something 3-4 years ago never happened when I ended up getting the 335.

I'm the Firestarter
So is this a rebadged British Vauxhall or is it designed in China? Or are Vauxhalls designed in China now?

Even if they delay introduction of the newest model by a year or two that wouldn't be that big a deal. That's what BMW and Audi do already ...

I have to assume that most/all of it was designed by Opel's studio in Germany. The Chinese version is the Buick Regal also and is a rebadge of the Insignia, but built by GM in/for China only.

The boomers will buy imports so I think Hyundai has a chance to take some of that if they want it. Mercury is still around but Lexus = Japanese Buick.

True story: A lady at my job that's like twice my age, approached me and started asking me about the Crosstour. She adored it and said it was gonna be her next car... I held back from laughing and proceeded to tell her that the Crosstour would be a good choice for her.

I dont see a single thing that acura or honda has that is designed as good looking as the new ford models and now GM models coming out.

probably below or near the Lacrosse, maybe the Regal will be the IS to how the Lacrosse will be to the ES350.

no, I didn't mean literally, but segment-wise. I'm pretty sure the Regal will be FWD with AWD as an option, but seeing as how they're going to offer a turbocharged AWD version that looks like that VXR, the Regal will take the role as the sporty, younger car, and the Lacrosse will be the car aimed at the older crowd. AWD on the Lacrosse is probably just for people in the snowy areas.
