Brabus: D3 (based on Mercedes-Benz C-Class) news

Press release...

50 PS (49 hp) / 36.8 kW more Power and an Extra 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) of Torque with BRABUS D3 S POWER XTRA

An increase in maximum power output from standard 170 PS (168 hp) / 125 kW to 220 PS (217 hp) / 162 kW, a jump in torque from 400 Nm to 480 Nm (295 to 354 lb-ft), combined with maximum environmental friendliness in accordance with Euro IV emission limits, and all that backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers (see BRABUS warranty conditions): For the new Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI BRABUS presents the new BRABUS POWER XTRA D3 S power kit.

The processor-controlled BRABUS auxiliary control unit with integrated injector drive module comes with a ready-to-connect wire harness and detailed installation instructions. It can be installed quickly and easily by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. The BRABUS POWER XTRA D3 S tuning kit works flawlessly in conjunction with the standard particulate filter of the C 220 CDI and increases maximum power output by 50 PS (49 hp) / 36.8 kW and peak torque by 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). Despite the increased performance emissions of the turbodiesel engine remain on the low level of the production car: Even with BRABUS performance tuning the car meets stringent EURO IV emission standards.

The added powerful of the tuned diesel engine is noticeable in every traffic situation: The increase in torque gives the C 220 CDI superior pulling power even at low engine speeds, making passing maneuvers shorter and safer.

Vehicle performance speaks for itself: With a sprint time from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) of 7.8 seconds the C 220 CDI with BRABUS D3 S performance kit takes almost a full second less than the production car. The top speed of 239 km/h (149 mph) exceeds that of the production model by 10 km/h (6 mph).

The fully stainless-steel BRABUS quad sport exhaust for the Mercedes C 220 CDI looks great and gives the car a more powerful exhaust note.

In addition to performance tuning BRABUS offers an extensive customization program for the new Mercedes C-Class. The product range includes a sporty yet elegantly shaped aerodynamic-enhancement kit, sporty suspension modifications from a simple lowering kit to a complete sports suspension, high-performance brake systems as well as exclusive interior accessories including handcrafted fully leather interiors made from only the very best materials with utmost precision and loving attention to detail.

Post 2014 Brabus Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Press release...

The new Mercedes C-Class opens the next chapter in the success story of those that came before. BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-r46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, internet www.brabus.com) offers an exclusive refinement program that leaves nothing to be desired: a sporty-elegant aerodynamic-enhancement program and tailor-made alloy wheels with diameters of up to 20 inches lend the sedan an even more thrilling appearance. Engine tuning and suspension options offer added vehicle dynamics. Custom interior design rounds out the product line-up for the W 205 model series.

For more than 35 years, sporty-elegant design has been a trademark of BRABUS. Body components that shine not only with visual appeal, but above all with aerodynamic efficiency, were developed in the wind tunnel. All components are manufactured of high-grade PUR plastics. The BRABUS styling package for the C-Class models in standard and AVANTGARDE specification or equipped with the EXCLUSIVE package will hit the market in a first step.

The sportily styled BRABUS front spoiler lends the C-Class a more striking face. But more than that: the aerodynamic-enhancement component also minimizes negative lift on the front axle and in so doing improves handling stability at high speeds. Its aerodynamic counterpart for the rear is a discreet spoiler lip that BRABUS offers for the trunk lid.

The front of the C-Class models with standard-spec or AVANTGARDE front bumper can be further upgraded with BRABUS air intakes that add emphasis to the design of the side air intakes.

The strikingly styled BRABUS rocker panels create an aerodynamically ideal transition between the wheel arches. These body components are also optionally available with integrated LED entry lights.

The diffuser-look BRABUS insert for the rear bumper lends the rear a sportier appearance. What’s more: the two cutouts on the left and right side provide the perfect backdrop for BRABUS quad sport exhaust system.

Tailor-made BRABUS tire/wheel combinations with diameters of 18, 19 and 20 inches are also a factor in the exclusive BRABUS look for the new C-Class. The largest version features BRABUS Monoblock F and R alloy wheels of size 8.5Jx20 at the front and of size 9.5Jx20 on the rear axle. Technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the perfect high-performance tires of sizes 225/35 ZR 20 and 255/30 ZR 20.

BRABUS lowering kits and sports suspensions with sporty-comfortable tuning for the new C-Class were developed in cooperation with BILSTEIN.

BRABUS offers the world’s most extensive engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. In a first step the BRABUS PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit will be available for the gasoline-powered C 200. It involves the adaptation of a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit to the engine electronics. To retain the engine’s durability and longevity, this tuning kit is designed to only use the performance-enhancing mapping once all parameters such as engine temperature etc. are in the green. This effectively prevents the performance increase from negatively affecting the engine’s service life. It goes without saying that the engine complies with the strict EURO VI emissions standards even after installation of the tuning kit.

Once the BRABUS PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit is installed, the four-cylinder turbo engine pumps out an extra 30 kW / 41 hp (40 bhp) and also delivers 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) more torque. Consequently the tuned sedan sprints from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.0 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 242 km/h (150 mph).

The BRABUS PowerXtra D3 performance kit for the Mercedes C 220 BlueTEC will be available shortly. Its installation boosts the power output of the four-cylinder turbodiesel engine by 36 kW / 50 hp (48 bhp). Peak torque jumps to 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). The sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is shortened to 7.1 seconds. Top speed increases to 240 km/h (149 mph).

Performance tuning for all other C-Class models – of course backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013) – is in the final stages of development. BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

Exclusive interior design is another domain of BRABUS. For the new C-Class the company upholstery shop crafts precision BRABUS fine leather interiors from soft and breathable leather and Alcantara by hand. In addition, the BRABUS product program offers an extensive line-up of custom accessories such as aluminum pedals and high-quality velour floor mats with BRABUS logo.

Not bad, I'm liking the W205 C. But, give me the 3-point star over the big B.

The new C-Class is amazing. Expensive, of course, but seems to have reset the bar for luxury in that price class.

Yeah, I priced out a W205 C300 & it was over $50k without being completely loaded
$56k for an equivalently packaged C400.

Also, MB's naming convention C400 = 3.0? C300 = 2.0T?
