Along with 30 other sites, BMW has thrown WCF a bone with an exclusive teaser video of a revolutionary concept car which will be revealed at a press conference on June 10. Named GINA Light Visionary model, no information has been given yet, but after viewing the video, the large open top roadster carries a similar profile to the recently reported BMW Powered Veritas RS3 Super Sportscar.
The video shows the vehicle covered with a baggy plastic cover, being transported to the BMW Museum, most likely the location where the press conference will be held. Stay tuned as detailed information and new videos will be released soon after the press conference.

Very cool concept in design. The material's ability to change and shift is very interesting.

When we shared the first teaser video of the 2008 BMW GINA Light Visionary Model we thought it would be another insane Bangle-influenced BMW Concept with a funny name. Little did we know it would be the promise of a revolution wherein the metallic skin is replaced with with a fabric that morphs and bends into different shapes. Though merely a concept (standing for Geometry and Functions in "N" (i.e. Infinite) Adaptations), it is certainly a unique one that could allow designers like Chris Bangle create multiple unattractive shapes.
Gotta love Jalopnik!

From an art perspective and as a design study, I think it's very creative. It's probably the most "organic" car design I've ever seen. It really is like skin over a skeleton. It feels like a mechanical animal.
Of course it's completely impractical, but concept cars aren't supposed to be taken literally. I think there are some really stunning design cues in this model that will translate well into sheet metal.

The "eye opening" headlights are awesome. BMW should really look into implementing that. Whatever happened to retracting headlights anyway?
