Can anyone tell if you're looking at a long wheelbase 7-series or a regular wheelbase 7-series if you see one on the road? You'd think the long wheelbase would give it off, but even the regular model is a pretty big sedan.

Redesigned BMW 7-Series to Bow at Geneva - - By Henny Hemmes - - Source: The Car Connection
Each of the five powerplants fitted into the 7-Series has been redone: the six-cylinder in the 730i is now the same as in the 5-Series and the new 330i, which is previewed at TheCarConnection today. The 730i has 258 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque and is the lightest engine in its class. Both eight-cylinder versions, the 735i and 745i, are being replaced by the 740i and 750i. The 740i now has 306 hp, up 34 hp from its predecessor. Torque increased from 266 lb-ft to 288 lb-ft. The 750i has 367 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque, up 34 hp and 29 lb-ft.
BMW also upgraded its in-line six diesel engine in the 730d and the V-8 diesel in the 740, now to be the 745d. The V-8 has 300 and a mighty 561 lb-ft of torque. The weight of both powerplants has been reduced by 66 lb by using an aluminium crankcase. The suspension of the new 7-Series has also been refined.
A U.S. on-sale date for the new 7-Series will be announced just before the Geneva Show.

I think the current 7 actually looks like a more evolved version of this 7. Maybe they did it backwards.

pros:
looks cleaner
side-profile loooks great
glad they stuck with no visible tailpipes (and not fanagle the look with a set of 4 gleaming tailpipes coming out the back, that you don't need - no tailpipes visible = classy)
new engine is nice
cons:
steering wheel looks straight out of a 80's-90's minivan
front is arguably boring from certain angles - but overall looks better than old one
in the first pic the whole car looks really boring (mainly because of the wheels - the other wheels below that are
final analysis:
I would drive it - HOWEVER - would take an '02-'03 Audi S8 over this
