, this year 3 of us (all over 6'2") spent 5 days in a M6 GC going to Amelia Concoursand while it's a phenomenal car, the back seat was cramped for me (6'4"). Rented a 2013 740 couple years ago, and it's back seat is big enough for me, front seat room on the 6 though is plenty.

yeah, I'd never stuff a 6 footer in the back of my GC unless the front passengers pulled the seat up a bit.

"Is that your new BMW 7 key fob in your pants or are you just happy to see me?" LOL that thing is huge.

(curious to see what Audi will come up next to match the new 7 and new s600).

I got an invite for a private viewing of the new 7 a few weeks ago...before the actual images were released to the public. They took all phones/technology away from me, so I couldn't take any pictures or video. A lot nicer in person. Technology is awesome...Overkill, but awesome. They said that there are 25 new technologies for BMW in the car, 12 of which are a world first in ANY car.

Didn't drive it...only sat in it and played around with the features. You know the car will drive itself into your garage and out via controls on the fob? Crazy! As for the sound, I know the upgraded audio system was by Bowers & Wilkins, the car I sat in had that. Not sure what the standard audio system will be, though.

It could use a traditional dipstick you need iDrive to check oil level, it needed a quart of oil at 1K miles

A local dealer invited me for a presentation. I guess they'll be getting the new 7 soon, probably a demo. Will see if they allow me to bring along my DSLR camera.

Rumors of an M7 circulate on the web, tuning the v12 they have in the Rolls Royce line up... and of course the Alpina version coming soon.

I know they are going to make it since X2 and M2 are already in the books somewhere.

I am surprised it took BMW this long to make the M7 since they are so jealous of the 100 S63/S65 that Merc is selling.

I cant wait for Merc to rename their C class coupe to D class so you will have D63 to compete with M4 and C63 to compete with M3. and BMW to make their X7.

2018 BMW Individual M760Li Nautors Swan

Press release...

The 25-year history of BMW Individual boasts countless highlights. To celebrate this anniversary, BMW Individual is presenting a car that stands out even amongst all the special editions and individual models of past years: the BMW Individual M760Li inspired by Nautor's Swan (combined fuel consumption: 12.8 l /100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 294 g/km).

Luxury and high performance: Nautor's Swan. Over the past 50 years, the renown of Nautor's Swan has spread beyond the world of sailing and is understood to be synonymous with luxurious, high-performance yachts. BMW and the Finnish yacht designer and manufacturer share a partnership of many years’ standing. The two brands appear together at prestigious regattas such as “Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez”.

This cooperation has produced a one-off model to celebrate the 25th anniversary of BMW Individual, combining the best of both worlds. The result: The BMW top model M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence, inspired by a glamorous sailing yacht.

Yachting atmosphere on board. A brief glance is enough to reveal the yachting inspiration behind the unique BMW Individual M760Li inspired by Nautor's Swan. Cooperation partner Nautor's Swan produced some elements for this special model by hand at their workshop in western Finland. These include teak panels with joints filled precisely with a fine layer of rubber. This allows the wood to expand and contract with changing temperatures. This is particularly sensible for the deck on a yacht – but also in a car. That is why this carbon-bonded wooden component graces the boot floor in the BMW Individual M760Li inspired by Nautor's Swan. The boot is also intricately fitted out in Alcantara Smoke White.

The interior trims, entry sills and floor mats are also made with teak and have been produced by Nautor's Swan. You can feel and see the yachting flair in every inch. This is enhanced by the presence of the Finnish brand’s insignia. The Nautor's Swan signet is stitched into the headrests and cushions. It also adorns the sun visors and interior trims made of European oak on the driver’s side and the central console.

Elegant and discreet exterior design details. The cooperation between the two brands is also apparent on the exterior. The brake calipers on the BMW Individual M760Li, which are exclusively finished in the same colour as the car, each bear a sublime, raised Swan logo, which is manufactured in an extra procedure. The boot lid of the car is also decorated with the Nautor’s Swan arrow, which is usually to be found on the side of the yachts. By way of analogy, the side of the car features a coachline, underlining its luxury quality.

Based on the BMW M760Li xDrive luxury limousine. The starting point for such a special car was none less than the already impressive BMW M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence. It has an exterior finished in the special BMW Individual colour damask red and a two-tone fine-grain Merino leather interior in smoke white and Criollo brown. The same is true of other features finished in leather, such as the footrests in the back of the car. BMW Individual takes the full leather interior to the next level, integrating top-quality BMW leather varieties into the trims for the A and B pillars, seat trims, door sills and the side covers for the instrument panel. The vehicle manual is also produced inside the Manufaktur and bound in Criollo brown Merino leather.

Sporty street performance with maximum comfort. The BMW Individual M760Li inspired by Nautor's Swan special model is just as impressive on the road. An M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine provides plenty of drive. A cubic capacity of 6.6 litres allows the engine to perform at 448 kW/610 hp and provides maximum torque of 800 Nm. The high-performance engine lets the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

In conjunction with the modern 8-gear Steptronic Sport transmission, the matchless characteristics of the V12 engine provides plenty of sporty yet controlled thrust. The innovative Executive Drive Pro chassis system also combines remarkable driving dynamism with maximum driving comfort. As you would expect from such a high-quality car, the on-board technology is also state-of-the-art. Semi-automated driving, touch display and BMW Gesture Control are just three of the technical highlights of this unique part of BMW’s history.

The BMW Individual M760Li inspired by Nautor's Swan celebrates its debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show on 12 September 2017.

BMW’s elite models share their identity and attitude. The car presents itself as part of a distinct BMW product category creating a new presence for its luxury cars. The identity and attitude shared by BMW’s elite models, including the BMW 7 Series as well as the new BMW X7, BMW i8 and new BMW i8 Roadster, are echoed in a newly designed logo which combines a black-and-white version of the manufacturer’s roundel first used 100 years ago with the company name “Bayerische Motoren Werke” written out in full. With its classical, understated aesthetic and the company’s original name spelt out, the logo highlights BMW’s inimitable history.

https://www.motor1.com/news/267706/b...ldberry-paint/

The fullsize luxury sedan segment opens a wide array of opportunities for those willing to dig deeper into their pockets to tick a lot of boxes on the extensive options list. Case in point, you can add thousands of dollars’ worth of extra goodies on a 7 Series to configure the luxobarge exactly as you want it, be it with an optional package and/or a fancy paint.

As you have probably guessed by now, this is far from being an entry-level version of Bavaria’s flagship model. It’s a 740i in the long wheelbase specification equipped with the M Sport Package, but what makes it stand out it’s the special Wildberry paint from the Individual catalog. It’s worth mentioning this is not a paint reserved only for BMWs as those with the means to go beyond the 7 Series can have it on a Rolls-Royce. The color has been around for a while and can be had for an assortment of models, including the current-generation M3.

To make the car a bit more special than the others, the 7 Series has been ordered with the optional Shadowline replacing all of the shiny chrome pieces of trim on the outside with a more elegant black finish, including for the so-called “hockey stick.” The 21-inch wheels in a two-tone look round off the upgrades on the outside.

Unfortunately, the cabin doesn’t quite match the pizzazz of the exterior. BMW combined the Merino leather upholstery with a wood trim and threw in the Executive Lounge configuration for the rear seats, but it’s not really all that special, is it?

If you plan on getting a 7 Series in the foreseeable future, you might want to wait a while as the stately sedan will be going through a mid-cycle refresh pretty soon. Spy shots have shown the facelifted version will get a more imposing kidney grille and reworked lights, plus some other changes not visible yet in spy shots.

https://www.motor1.com/news/301156/2...series-teased/

BMW is about to take the wraps off the 7 Series Life Cycle Impulse, but that won’t happen at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show. Much like rivals at Audi and Mercedes-Benz, the Bavarians are skipping this year’s NAIAS, hence why the LCI for their flagship sedan will not make an appearance in Motor City. Ahead of its official reveal slated for January 16 (that’s tomorrow), BMW has released a shadowy teaser image of its 2020 7 Series.

Truth be told – the teaser isn’t showing anything new. Courtesy of several revealing images posted on social media in recent days, we’ve already seen the exterior of BMW’s updated 7er from all angles. The X7-esque gargantuan kidney grille is a sight to behold, while the slimmer headlights further separate the LCI from its predecessor. For the full picture, here are screenshots taken from a configurator that went live earlier than planned:

The teaser image came attached to a press release talking about a new space (pictures attached at the end) created at BMW Welt in München, Germany with help from Milan-based architect and designer Patricia Urquiola. Reserved to high-end models such as the 7 Series, X7, the 8 Series, but also the Concept M8 Gran Coupe, the special stage has an intricate design of the 323-square-meter (3,476-square-feet) floor making use of 3D-printing technology. The floor is molded with terrazzo, which Wikipedia says is a composite material consisting of chips of “marble, quartz, granite, glass, or other suitable material.”

BMW Welt will have the 2020 7 Series up on display starting tomorrow when we’re expecting to see the fullsize luxury sedan on the World Wide Web as well.
