...I think it'll look better in person. However, those headlights remind me of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit. lol

yuck.
too bad... the older 7 series looked much more aggressive, cleaner and solid. this thing looks like someone at bmw should be fired and then taken out to the back and remodeled.:P

I'm not a huge fan of the new 7 on the outside, but I love the interior (except for I-Drive). The sport package looks the same, I don't really see a different, maybe it will look better in a darker color. I think the 7's that I see around now look good in Black or Dark Blue, I saw one the other night with Tints and it was Black and it looked sweet!

You guys are all mad. The last 7 was way too conservative and lean. This new 7 is much more aggressive and muscular. I see them everywhere now and still turn my head and drool each time. This guy that lives near me has a black one with the darkest damn illegal tints i've ever seen, with huge black rims probably 20s, best looking thing on the road out there right now under $100k

Yes, we're all mad at BMW....not really. The previous 7 series was an amazing design, that lasted years (out since 95) without looking dated. Lets see how good the E65 looks in 7 years, I'm guessing not very good (since it doesn't look all that great now).

The only new 7 that looks halfway descent is a black one, not to mention one with tints and black wheels... black covers all the shitty design elements and just looks like a big black imposing car.

Stick giant black fancy wheels and dark ass tints on a Mercury Marauder and you'll get the same effect.

The new 7 is the best luxury sedan below $100,000 (the only car that beats it is a bentley). Not to mention it is the hardest. BMW is also the best car manufacturer and i have never seen a beemer i haven't liked...props to the bavarians.

BMW: 7-Series news **2013 Revealed (page 14)**

I guess there finaly coming to there sences about how freekin ugly this thing truly is...

http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=02012541

We have this on the highest authority: Your excuses for wanting to dangle BMW design chief Chris Bangle from a tree for what he did to your beloved 7 Series will be all but eliminated by year’s end.

BMW sources in Germany tell us that Bangle and his team have been hard at work restyling the car since moments after the reskinned 7 premiered to “glaringly negative” reaction at the 2001 Frankfurt show.

Look for an all-new tail and face, with an improved trunk-lid line and the elimination of the Dame Edna eyebrows (see dame-edna.com, then you’ll understand) over the headlights.

With the 5 Series being the big news for the Frankfurt show in September, the redone 7 Series will appear perhaps “as early as Tokyo [Oct. 25 to Nov. 6] or maybe Detroit, but no later,” our source reports, following the fastest model redo in the history of the proud Munich firm.

Exactly! If it sells why mess with it. You're just going to annoy existing customers as it lowers the value of their now old "new" 7 series. Didn't they do this with the WRX also?

i think its hot. but i think they instead of sitting on a good formula until it gets old, they want to keep it new all the time. its german - known for its innovation and advanced technology.

guess they want to be on everyones good side.

All they really need to do is maybe change the back of it. the car looks hot otherwise.

Actually, the interior is not that great. Should make it more 3-series style in appearance.

Not only is the rear and front hideous but it has been a nightmare for owners. Problems galore from the radio to wheels being stuck. I think with the facelift and new rear, it will be awesome to look at. But I-drive sucks.

My dad had one reserved when they first came out. When we went and looked at it, he decided not to get it. The car is beautiful from the front bumper to the rear door. After that, all hell breaks loose. The interior is very nice, but I-drive is among one of the worst inventions in automotive history. How are people who didn't grow with computers going to drive and use the I-drive at the same time? Whoever gave the OK for I-drive didnt do their homework because most of the people buying these cars are baby boomers.

I think the 7 Series is one of the best looking big sedans out there. To me it looks alot better than the last 7 Series.

Wow, what a surprise......Change that disgusting excuse of a rear, one of the ugliest rears on an expensive car I have ever seen (in the U.S. anyway). Next, get rid of those stupid eyelashes on the headlights, they make the car look tired and droopy.

Finally, put a fucking floor shifter in it. Probably won't happen but wouldn't be a surprise if they did since the new 5 series is going to have one.

The E65 7series doesn't hold a Candle to the previous model in the looks department (especially a 740 Sport).

Of course the car is selling, as mentioned above, the lease deals are fantastic on the car......you can be in a $75k equipped 745i for under $1k/month.

I love the way teh E65 looks, a real head turner IMO.

But I totally agree with Beltfed about a floor shifter, I hate column shifters.
Plus a floor mounted shifter would mean they would once again produce a manual tranny 7 like the previous generations mmmmmmm 765iL with a 6spd

the new 7 isn't bad but it just isn't as smooth as the previous 7, nothing looked out of place on that car.

BMW: M7 news **New Speculation and Rendering (page 1)**

This is just a rumor:

"The front end on the confirmed production m7 will have an electronic retracting spoiler system -in carbon fiber - this system will allow the m7 to reach excess speeds of 180 with a still firm luxurious ride – there will also be a new rear differential system where the there is a secondary transmission giving the rear of the car different ratios as needed - the transmission will be a newly exotic yet unconfirmed technology- the engine will be bored v12 of 7.2 liters with 710 hp minimum - vanos generation 3 will show up -the car will also use a less aggressive electronic suspension control system - in favor of even more extensive mechanics including additional control arms with beefy aluminum components hand forged and even hollowed where viable - the brakes will feature 6 - 8 piston calipers in front and probably quad in back - the car looks very low - so low that some of the side skirts were actually shaved according to rumor - AND perhaps quite humorous is the fully redesigned rear end of this car. It looks unlike the rest of the 7 series lineup instead using a very elegant rendition of the new 5 series back with some elements from the hapless current design to form a stronger new one – trunk space was sacrificed a bit - but who cares - the front end - with the active spoiler will reflect the current m5"

BMW 7-Series News **Hydrogen 7 Unveiled (page 7)**

Not a good sign

During the first quarter, Mercedes-Benz sold 17,700 S classes, and sales are rising slightly (amazing, considering the next generation S-Class is right around the corner!).

During that same period BMW moved 6,385 7-series cars. Sales have been softening on the Seven, even though it's only in the second year, of its life cycle.

That's 'cause it's butt ugly...and now they're doing the same thing to the 5 series. Ho-hum...well, that might bode well for the new TL and RL thought. :o

I like the look of the new Bimmer's, but the problem is that they are too elegant looking for a BMW. That is what Benz is for. Bimmers are supposed to be bad ass looking, and now they are going for elegant, and possibly faggy, looking cars.

the E65 is FUGLY and worst of all, it has that ridiculous i-Drive bullshit. The E38 was a way better in almost every respect.
