As many suspected would happen, we North Americans will not be getting the new 5-Series Touring.

BMW confirmed that unfortunate bit of news today.

I read that this morning and got really sad

Such a great looking wagon! Why don't they just axe the GT and bring the wagon here instead??? I bet the wagon would get more sales. Damn Americans and hating wagons!!!!!!!

Apparently the 5GT must be selling well enough.

The 5-Series Touring never caught on anyway. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen one. I've never even seen one at a Bimmer dealer!

It's really a shame Americans don't appreciate wagons more, instead they'd rather buy something with 10 inches of ground clearance than handles like a boat. I will own a wagon for my next car, and chances are that means Audi will be the only likely contender by that point.

^ you're forgetting Volvo too. Audi & Volvo are the only two bold enough to push wagons (and I do mean wagon, not that Crosstour crossover crap). they know those don't sell in the same numbers as SUVs, but they will cater to the few who will buy them. And for that they get a

Leaked: 2011 BMW 5 Series M-Sport Package

Through the wonder of the internet, we've been given an early glimpse at a set of M goodies for next-year's BMW 5 Series. Bimmer Today managed to get their hands on a few scanned brochure images of a long roof wearing a few fancy bits of kit, including a reworked front fascia, aggressive side skirts and tweaked rear diffuser. The scans even show a couple of extra wheel options that should be available on 2011 models. BMW has managed to up the sex appeal by slathering the parts all over a long roof 5, but we feel pretty safe in guessing that the same parts will be available on sedan models as well.

Inside, buyers opting for the M Sport package can expect a few minor changes, including a new three-spoke steering wheel, seats trimmed out in a new design and an M-branded shift knob. The photos don't say too much about what kind of performance upgrades will come along with the bolt-ons, but we would be surprised if BMW decided to stray from its tried and true formula of offering a more aggressive suspension along with the new track suit.

I saw a GT the other day and thought the wagon makes so much more sense and looks so much better that I just don't get who the GT is for.

We bring you the first official photos of the F10 5-series sedan M-sport aero kit! Shown in these photos is the F10 5-series with front M sport bumper, M-sport rear diffuser/bumper, two M-sport wheel options - the 18" double spoke 350M wheels or the 19" double spoke 351M wheels, and dark chrome tail pipes. The M-sport package may be ordered with seven exterior colors (in Europe), so we expect that there will be additional colors not currently available on the F10.

Inside, the M-sport package comes with sports seats, ///M steering wheel, anthracite roof liner, and special aluminum hexagon trim.

Expect an October release date in the US.

Won't this be a lot like the new M5 under the hood? Both are tuned separately but the M5 is gonna have a lot more power.

Hmmmm....

Got my latest C&D issue, and the 535i gets its ass handed to it by the A6 3.0T. Another win for Audi.

1. A6
2. M37
3. 535i

^ I heard about that. I really want to read the article, esp since they typically favor BMWs.
