Sounds like they're going to fuck up the 3-series styling too. From the article posted by gavriil:
As with the exterior styling, the 3-series’ cabin design is more conservative than of late, so as not to offend buyers of this most mainstream of BMWs.
It's not like the current 3-series sedan is all that exciting, now this conservative approach and the horrendous Bangle trunk treatment. :ghey:

Hopefully they don't go the same route with the coupe/4-series and M3.

On the contrary. What the article means is that the interior design will stay away from the "out there" styling of the 5er and the 7er. There are some pics of the interior in this thread. It looks better than the 5er's. At least the dash does.

Yeah, but it still looks cheap IMO. I guess I've just never been a huge fan of 3-series interiors, especially when you consider how much you have to pay for one.

When I was at that “BMW Ultimate Drive” on Saturday they had ALL the latest models parked side-by-side.
While the 3-Series coupe still looks great, I think it looked really “dated” when parked in the same row with the newest 5, 6, 7, X3 & Z4.
The 3 definitely needs this update.
I think a lot of the people slamming the new Bangle designs are basing their criticisms off of magazine articles and photo’s they’ve seen on the net.
I’m starting to see a few 5’s & 7’s on the roads in my area.

Go take a look at one in person. I think they look GREAT.

I have seen many 5s and 7s in person and a few 6s and still don't like the trunks. That's my main gripe with these cars. But you're right, the trunk doesn't stand out as much in person as in some pics you see.

I thought the twin turbocharges helped get the 3.0 diesel to 268hp. The hp on that engine is great, but all that tourque is amazing. I wish they'd bring that engine choice here.

Does anyone have any updates on the rumor that the new “M” vehicles will be SMG Tranny only?
I think this will be a big mistake if they do it.

^^^^^^^^

I hope not. That would really take away a lot of the "driving experience" from many enthusiasts.

you guys make me laugh, time and time again, you guys see these "images" of up-coming vehicles and think they are real. am i the only one who can tell when a picture of a vehicle is merely a photochop job or a real picture? none of the pictures of this new M3 are real. its painfully obvious. im sure the "Artists" who did those pics are on the right track but please guys, this happens all the time, the final product will be different, dont take these photochops as the gosple.

beautifully designed. i love the way the front fender looks like its putting pressure on the headlights. there are all these little notions of overlaps and lines that make the car look like its moving forward when it is at a standstill. nice job bangle!

i do not see the sidevent under the door or the oddly shaped raked front lip going into production

jimcol711 that's why I called it an "image" and not a picture. Of course they are not real. Most if not all of us, know that. The only real pic will be an official pic from BMW when the car is out. But till then, all we can do is have folks guess the way it will look from various theoritical sources of info. It's always nice to see the direction and that's what those images show. Some better than others.

i really like the look of the 5, they got everything right imo except the back could still be toned down a bit. but its a lot less notiecable in person then in pics. i think the 3 is due for an update, but damn, i have to say it drives amazingly

When I posted I remember this title saying M3. Which is different then a regular 3 and that is why i posted a new thread.

We also have an M3 thread.

Are you saying this is the M3 in the pics?
