Is the 3.5L supposed to be the turbo model that fills the gap between the next M3 and the new 330? I think I remember it should be around 320-340hp and if thats the case.....well,

No. That engine was supposed to be 3.0 turbo and making around 320HP. This is clearly mentioned as a 3.5L engine. Hence my question above.

Nope. Coupe comes first, 6 months later the cabrio follows. So it goes in ascending order of codename, E90, E92, E93

BMW 3 Series Sport Spy Photos - - by Przemek Lis - - Source: www.worldcarfans.com

The new BMW 3 Series E90 sports kit will become available shortly after it is shown at either Paris or Frankfurt later this year. Following E46 sport tradition, the window trim will come only in black and not silver colour. The front bumper will only slightly change from the current 3 Series. The ventral vent will retain a similar shape but will be larger and deeper than the stock version. Side vents are also larger with a small lip on either side under the vents with the side skirt being more sculpted. The rear bumper will sport one dual exhaust. A small spoiler like that on the 5 Series Sport will also appear on the trunk. Lower suspension with a firmer ride will come standard, as will 18 inch rims. Prices are expected to be $3000 - $4000 more than the base equivalent model with no sport kit. The sport kit will be available for both the sedan and touring, with a sport version eventually appearing on the 3 Series coupe as well.

It would be fine if the price was competitive with the rest of the market, but not at +40k.

Nothing exciting or sporty about it. Just a very M looking front lip.

Wheel wells still look small... and the front seems to have this protruding bottom lip making the overhang look larger. On the E46 the short overhang looked really sexy.

Awful ... I wish they had just freshened the E46 and actually, you know, made them RELIABLE.

I've seen people getting invoice + 1000 for the new 3 series..

If I option accordingly,
invoice ----------- edmunds TMV
$31,265 ----------- $33,354

I'm thinking 32.5K (not including tax & title) should be reasonable..

I dunno...I just feel that at that price, one would be better off getting a TL, G35, or the likes.

With all the tranny problems honda has, i would think once, twice, trice about getting another honda made product. The only thing bimmers are notorious for, well the ones my cousin has owned at least, is not being able to take beatings for long without breaking mechanicla shit.

I disagree. All I have to do is look at what it costs to fix VANOS problems and that's enough for me to say, "No thanks!"

Every automaker has problems - it also depends on how much the customer is willing to tolerate the problem.

I have a 2004 BMW 330Xi with zero problems since date of purchase.

As compared to my 2001 CL, the CL had rattles, transmission replacement, failed navigation, the list goes on.

Previous 1999 TL, it also had transmission problems and rubber sealed that the dealer could not fix.

Unless you are buying a used one (excluding CPO) BMW maintenance is free. So technically it doesn't cost you a dime

The RS4 would compete against this M3.. The current S4 is just not powerful enough.

Ah...so, the S4 is more along the lines of a 330Ci with M3 sport kit or something...?

different animal. the s4 has 4 doors, AWD and has a v8 so it's not on par with a 330ci...performance wise it's slightly faster than the 330ci but not by much.

I have a feeling that this car is going to MSRP near 60K. Nice looking car, but not worth the money when you look at what the competition offers.

Well, without sounding too snarky, is any Eurocar ever truly worth their price?

I suppose. But, when you're paying that much...I think "worth" becomes a weird thng. I was more referring to Eurocars for us, the little people.
