Infiniti Ranks Highest in J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Index Study

Prestigious Award Comes Amid Strong Sales Growth, New Model Introductions


GARDENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 2003--Infiniti today was named the highest ranked nameplate in J.D. Power and Associates' 2003 Customer Service Index (CSI) Study(SM) with a score of 900. It was the third time in its history that Infiniti has topped the well-known independent study that measures customer satisfaction with dealer service during the first three years of vehicle ownership. Infiniti finished second in last year's report. The 2003 study is based on responses from more than 105,000 new-vehicle owners and lessees.
In announcing Infiniti as the top nameplate in satisfying its customers' service and maintenance needs, J.D. Power and Associates noted that Infiniti received the highest ranking in repairs, and had the highest marks for the service quality, service advisor and service delivery repair measures.

"2003 is turning out to be the year of Infiniti," said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti. Calendar year-to-date sales of Infiniti vehicles are up 36.4 percent (through June) with June sales increasing 43.0 percent over June 2002. Sales were led by the strong showing of two of Infiniti's newest models, the powerful FX45 and FX35 premium crossover SUVs and the G35 Sport Sedan and Sport Coupe, winners of the 2003 Motor Trend Car of the Year award.

"We challenged our outstanding network of 162 Infiniti dealers to provide an even greater level of customer service, while at the same time handling an expanded model line and many more customers, and they met the challenge. It goes to show that if you pay attention to the details, customer service and sales volume are not mutually exclusive," said Igo.

In addition to the FX and G35, the 2003 Infiniti product lineup includes the flagship Q45 performance luxury sedan, the powerful Infiniti M45 performance sedan, I35 luxury performance sedan and QX4 luxury sport utility vehicle. Infiniti will introduce an all-new, V8-powered full-size luxury SUV next spring.
