Bentley: Continental Sedan news **2014 Flying Spur Revealed (page 3)**

Volkswagen spins the British brand into a new four-door future.

by Hans Lehmann/Hidden Image (2003-11-03)

With the new Bentley sedan - codenamed BY611 - the Volkswagen-owned British noble carmaker will have a new sedan to compete against Mercedes, BMW, and Jaguar.

Two prototypes of the new model were spied during testing in Germany at the famous Nürburgring racetrack. Both prototypes were cleverly hidden under a Phaeton body, as can be seen on the first photo (635C1) of this photo set.

The other three pictures, provided by AutoExpress magazine in England, are showing the new Bentley in full showroom trim, as it will come on the market in 2004.

The interior will still be made and fitted by the craftsmen at Crewe in Great Britain. Inside the BY611 will still use the same fine quality materials as the bigger models in the range. Designers have also been careful to make sure no visible components bear any resemblance to those used in other VW products.

Power comes from a 500-hp W-12 engine, while the top speed will be electronically limited to 185 mph. An all-wheel drive transmission ensures maximum traction on slippery roads.

Luxury has its price: the new Bentley BY611 saloon is expected to start at 100,000 British pounds, or about $170,000.

’06 Bentley Sedan **Spy Shots (page 1)**

Spy Shots: ’06 Bentley Sedan - - Time to fire your accountant. - By by Brenda Priddy -- - Source: The Car Connection

Ignore the tacked-on Mercedes-like grille and fancy tape around the taillamps in a familiar Mercedes shape. This is no Mercedes: it's actually a new sedan based on the Bentley Continental GT Coupe, and built to compete with the upcoming Mercedes S-Class and others in the luxury sedan market. A convertible on this same platform is expected to be introduced shortly after the introduction of this sleek Bentley sedan.

We'll officially see this Continental GT Coupe-based sedan late in the 2005 model year, or possibly as an early 2006 introduction.

No way, the VW W12 Phaeton (the platform in which this Bentley will be built I'm sure just like the GT)....bases at $96k before options.

This car won't have a base MSRP a dime less than $160k+

oh, my bad. Thats still not a bad price. I know Bentley management won't cheap out on anything either.

The Bentley coupe is AWD right?

now every fucking wannabe who can JUST afford to lease one, will have one. I love the guys in the ghetto that live with their moms(because they have more than one), drive a benz and dump whatever money they get into rims. Then 6 months later the car is repoed because they couldnt make the payment. I had a friend that worked for his car. His payment was like 1500 a month and he worked just for that payment. He was fucking ruled by his car. Yeah, you have a GS400. Hell no i cant buy you something to eat.

I feel ya 100%. But that won't be the case with this car. It'll have a long ass waiting list to by, not lease, one; just like the GT. And it'll be waaayyy expensive to lease anyway. You don't see to many people in the hood leasing a Ferrari 430, and that's whay this will be comparable to, price wise (atleast that much). So have no fear. Bently will stay exclusive (except you have alot of wannabes sitting on 22's in their 300s in the ghetto).
