Hmmmm
R8 will get this soon....V8 + 7sp DSG (and I belive this one is a dry clutch system!)
.... that thing will SCOOT.
I'd still take an R8 with a 6sp though.
The best partner for this tranny would be an A4 2.0T. Would make a fantastic daily driver. Tons of torque and a slick tranny.

The R8 already has a DSG option. Though it will get the new 7 speed dry clutch for sure which will be an improvement. But don't think the current DSG is obsolete, it's still more efficient than a manual even with a wet clutch!
Current Cars with tranverse 2.0Tstranverse allows them to shorten the hood) TT, A3 for audi. GTI, Jetta , Passat and EOS for VW.. Transverse 2.0ts put out more power due to their more optimal layout for free flowing exhausts.(less bends around the downpipe)
Current cars with longitidunal 2.0ts: A4/A5 for audi and no VWs with longitudinal.

Audi: New Generation Audi MMI
From Worldcarfans...
Someday we’ll be driving computer chips and watching Powerpoint presentations on our in-car plasma screens. The latter is already well under way. Audi aims to be at the very edge of this in-car infotainment revolution and has MMI II to prove it. Launched in 2002, MMI (Multi Media Interface) was hailed as being more user-friendly than BMW’s iDrive system, although MMI has considerably many more buttons than iDrive, which sort of defeats the whole purpose of trying to simplify in-car function operations.
A new version of MMI will now be offered immediately with A8, later A6 and then Q5. Improvements to MMI are quite numerous. A new TFT display with a resolution of 800x480 with LED background applies. The system comes with a 40GB hard drive, 10GB of which can be used to store music like in a jukebox – if you’re younger than 25 you may not know what I’m talking about here – the rest of which stores log book and satnav information. Speaking of satnav, the display can now show images in 3D using an Nvidia graphics processor which makes it even more realistic for the desperate traveller. This time under 25s will know exactly what I’m referring to as far as Nvidia is concerned. The highest-equipped version of MMI II is a B&O branded system. Other “normal” applications include Bluetooth which can be paired with your cell phone for that hands-free requirement, a USB port, auxiliary jack for portable MP3 players as well as the TV function where offered.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
Hot... I wish they would have pushed this along with the new B8 A4. I see no mention of traffic or weather features like the Acura navis. And given all this, I'd still prefer dated graphics and touch-screen that you can work in motion than 3D graphics and no touch screen and not being able to use it unless you're not moving.

I wonder how long before some genius wraps his car around a tree while trying to use the system.

Audi: Future Models news
http://www.leftlanenews.com/audi-to-...l-in-july.html
Audi to unveil mystery model in July
Audi today announced it will unveil a new model at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt on July 16th. About 2,500 people are expected to attend the event, which will commemorate Audi’s 100th birthday. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of Audi’s Board of Management will take the wraps off the vehicle.
No information was given on the forthcoming model aside from some very vague remarks by Mr. Stadler. “We are proud of the tradition of the Audi brand and our company’s history of success. You have to be aware of your roots if you want to shape the future with new ideas and innovations,” says Stadler.
As for the possibilities, the Audi RS5 comes to mind, as does the R8 Spider. Other potential debuts include the production version of the A7 sedan, or the new A5 Sportback.
Stay tuned for our coverage of the launch, whatever it may be, on July 16th.

I kinda see your point, but the TT is in direct competition with the z4, being that both are roadsters. So I still have a belief that another model, possibly an A3 coupe or something else could go up against the 1 series.

If they truly mean mystery model that nobody has heard about yet, it's gotta be something like I had eluded to earlier, the A3 coupe, or something else completely. Otherwise, if it is in fact about the RS5, A5 sportback, it's not really a mystery and just a marketing ploy.
Oh and A7 isn't that much of a mystery either.

True, but the tt coupe has 4 seats so i think and a3 coupe would under cut the sales of the 2.0t TT. It might be a TTRS, its all speculation until you actually see something, I just hope its not crossover

I don't know of any manufacturer that has 3 CUV's in their lineup, but to me a SUV and CUV are one in the same, just different styling. Having different sized SUV's does make sense though, no different than compact, midsize and full size car.
It was only a matter of time before Audi did/does make a Q3 to compete with the X3, so that doesn't surprise me, but even still, not happy that this mystery model may be another CUV/SUV.
