I hate this new HUGE grill styling that all new Audi's will have. The front grill looks WAY too big.

Kinda like BMW having the ugly rear ends

fahoumh 04-04-2003 10:07 PM

so far not so good....I can't wait to see pics of working prototypes

AcuraFan 04-04-2003 10:42 PM

FUGLY...'nuff said.

neoprufrok 04-05-2003 02:49 AM

What's wrong with the German's lately? Can't seem to design worth shit.

danny25 04-05-2003 04:43 PM

it's okay, but I also hate that enormous grille. :shakehd:

Red Nj-s 04-05-2003 04:57 PM

Ginormous grill. Not a good styling step at all there Audi.

Looks like a PS though.

DelawareCLS 04-06-2003 08:51 PM

Interesting - they took the grill from a circa-1980's Volvo parts bin...or maybe MOPAR (latest Dodge Ram).

I think the styling cues that the Germans are going with lately make Cadillac's look better and better every day. May be controversial to say so, but I think the front end of the Audi steals some of those Caddy styling cues (hard edges, angular lights).

That's exactly what i was thinking. The plate makes it look even worse.

Titand19 04-07-2003 12:09 AM

Thanks Zoot.

blackmagiCL_S 04-15-2003 12:36 PM

Looks pretty cool to me. :dunno:

The grill is way too large but if there was some sort of styling thing that cut all the way across the front sort of where the plate is then it might carry off the grill....there looks to be a black thing behind the plate but that just isn't enough. The headlights look very agressive though and I like that. The overall look is muscular.

Expect the new A6 to have a similar engine lineup. Automobile Magazine reports that the new 3.0L V6 will feature direct injection to reach 240 HP. the 4.2 will likely reach 330 HP as with the new A8. Again, expect Front Wheel Drive and Quattro AWD. It will NOT share a platform with the new Passat, so expect the engine to still be longitudally mounted. That means that Quattro will still be a Torsen system and FWD cars should retain the Multitronic CVT. The new A6 will probably be a bit more luxurious and larger.

Red Nj-s 08-15-2003 10:22 AM

different..... Maybey I will warm up to it.

Zapata 08-15-2003 11:02 AM

hmmm looks like every other audi :( i don't like this trend......

AcuraFan 08-15-2003 11:24 AM

I'm still not liking the grill. The current one just looks so much more sleek yet powerful.

Black CL-S 4-Life 08-15-2003 12:41 PM

I like the old one better.

Chaptorial 08-15-2003 01:27 PM

Looks very similar to the current generation. Don't like the grill at all. :nono:

Python2121 08-15-2003 03:34 PM

i like the grill, but if you get hit its gonna be $$$ because you dont have a bumper

heyitsme 08-15-2003 03:41 PM

looks like an a4 with a big ass grill, i don't like that acura is doing this so i'm not going to like it when audi continues to use one design.

fahoumh 08-15-2003 07:39 PM

what the hell is that

chef chris 08-16-2003 12:27 PM

Grill or not, still looks Audi-ish...

I like it.

zeroday 08-17-2003 06:17 PM

without that euro plate on there to break up the grill that is gonna be one ugly bish

1SICKLEX 08-17-2003 07:13 PM

A4,A6, A8, all look the same. But that is not a bad thing in their case.

SilverCL225hp 08-17-2003 07:25 PM

Oh yeah all Audis look the same, just different sizes. Clear brand styles.

Audi Thinks Big On Next A6

hen is 6 as big as 8? When it's engineered by Audi. Exclusive spy shots in the current issue of Auto Express magazine show the next-generation A6 hot-weather testing in southern Europe, and it looks like the designers have big ideas for the newcomer.

Even though the overall shape of the car will remain the same as the current model, the test drivers were careful to tape up the huge front and rear overhangs. Underneath the plastic, the aluminium Audi's styling will be heavily influenced by the Nuvolari concept, driven by Auto Express in Issue 756. Our undisguised image shows how the distinctive headlights and deep grille will look on final production models.

Closing the size gap between the A6 and the A8 means there will be plenty of space inside the car when it's launched next spring. It will be available with a wide range of engines, from a 150bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder to a 240bhp 3.0-litre V6. Diesel buyers will get the choice of 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0-litre units. And following the successful debut of the technology in Audi's small-er models, the Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) system will eventually be used on all A6 petrol units. Range-topping four-wheel-drive quattro versions will come with Audi's tried and tested 4.2-litre V8, but lesser models will be driven exclusively by the front wheels.

Fans of the high-performance bi-turbo V8-equipped RS6 can look forward to the flagship replacement, but it won't arrive until 2007. As if the current version wasn't fast enough, the next variant will get an extra 43bhp, taking output to a supercar-baiting 493bhp.

Six months after the introduction of the four-door, an estate will go on sale badged A6 Avant, but fans will be more interested in the sleek coupé version, which will break cover in 2005.

pimpscls 08-28-2003 06:09 PM

i like beacause my mom has a 2001 a6 very smooth looking car

Nashua_Night_Hawk 08-28-2003 06:24 PM

a 493 HP RS6 will be impressive.. How about dropping that engine in the RS4?!!

bkknight369 08-28-2003 08:56 PM
