Carbon Editions.

Official: Aston Martin Vanquish Carbon Edition
By Ed Jones Aston Martin, September 10, 2014

Aston Martin Vanquish Carbon Editions

Today, Aston Martin unveiled the new Vanquish Carbon Edition model. Detailed on their website, this new model has a slew of features that come standard in both the Carbon Black and Carbon White editions. Each of these features enforces the Carbon Edition’s contrasting black and white color theme.

The new black side window surrounds of the Carbon Edition are both unique to the model and new to the Vanquish. Black 10-spoke alloy wheels add to the Carbon Black’s all-black appearance, while contrasting beautifully against the Carbon White. All new black headlight eyebrows are found on both the Black and White editions and give the car a much more sinister look.

Inside the Carbon Editions is, of course, Herringbone carbon fiber trim, along with black anodised speaker grilles for the Bang & Olufsen audio system. Also found throughout the cabin are black leather seating and door inserts.

Customers will be able to choose between the white or black exterior for either the coupe or convertible Vanquish Carbon Edition. All editions are powered by a 6.0-liter V12 that produces 586 bhp and 465 lb-ft of torque. These cars can accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds and have a top speed of 201 mph.

Post 2015 Aston Martin Works 60th Anniversary Vanquish

Photos originally posted by knight rider here: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-tal...96855/page373/

Press release...

Aston Martin Works – which marks its diamond jubilee in 2015 – is celebrating 60 glorious years at Newport Pagnell with the commissioning of six limited edition sports cars.

The first of the cars is being revealed today, Friday December 12, at the Buckinghamshire-based firm’s customer Christmas celebration, which also forms the start of 12 months of exciting anniversary activity at Aston Martin Works.

The six bespoke cars, all versions of the current Vanquish super GT in either Coupe or Volante form, are being created in association with the luxury British brand’s Gaydon-based design team, and its ultimate personalisation service: Q by Aston Martin.

Each of the six cars is subtly different, and each is tailored to reflect one of the six decades being celebrated. The result is a collection of rare and ultra-desirable sports cars that will be instantly recognisable as ‘Works 60th Anniversary’ models.

A number of elements distinguish the Anniversary cars including trim and paint colour treatments. But, perhaps, the most emotive part of each car comes in the form of a fine detail: bespoke rotaries around the major controls in the centre console of each Vanquish.

Each rotary has been cast from metal that, previously, had formed a piston in an Aston Martin engine of the relevant period. These rotaries are then carefully laser etched with Works’ Anniversary wording.

The six pistons have been drawn from engines in the following Newport Pagnell-built sports cars:

1955-1965: DB 2/4 Mk II saloon
1965-1975: DB5
1975-1985: V8 Coupe
1985-1995: V8 Vantage X-pack
1995-2005: V8 Vantage supercharged
2005-2015: Original Vanquish

In each case, the relevant piston has been sourced from an engine that has been rebuilt or reworked at some point in its life.

Design direction for the Works Anniversary cars came from the Aston Martin Design team, led by Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, while the bespoke elements of each car’s construction have been delivered by the Q by Aston Martin personalisation team at the brand’s Gaydon factory.

Aston Martin Works Commercial Director, Paul Spires, explained: “This project has been a harmonious co-operation across the whole business, developed uniquely to celebrate 60 years of Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell.

“I’m thrilled to be unveiling the first of these cars at our Christmas celebration, and look forward to seeing the remaining models being built and delivered to customers throughout the course of our anniversary year in 2015.”

Collectors’ items

The process of creating the bespoke Aston Martin Works 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Vanquish models began way back in July of this year, as the Works team met with designers from Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ to scope out their plans.

Working closely with Marek Reichman and his team, and the brand’s bespoke personalisation branch – Q by Aston Martin – the Works staff carefully developed and refined their ideas for the ultimate 60th anniversary collectors’ item cars.

Dr Matthew Bennett, General Manager of VIP and Q by Aston Martin Sales at Gaydon, said: “The colours of these six unique cars have been very carefully chosen to reflect and celebrate the progress of Aston Martin Works over those six decades.

“Celebrating the past, but pointing very much toward a bright and exciting future, too, these Vanquish models will, I’m sure, very quickly become a notable feature of the brand’s history at Newport Pagnell.”

Instantly identifiable as Works Anniversary cars by features such as their Anniversary Yellow side strakes and alloy wheels, the six Vanquish also feature the new Aston Martin Works 60th Anniversary logo which, like the cars’ colour schemes, has been designed by the team at Gaydon. The vibrant and distinctive logos are etched into each car’s sill plates.

Paul Spires added: “We certainly gave ourselves some challenges with this project. Coloured side strakes such as these have never been attempted by Aston Martin before, and sourcing pistons from the correct engines in the correct decades was, of course, no small feat either.

“However, we’re all very happy with the end result and we’ve already taken a number of orders from collectors keen to own a piece of the brand’s history.”

Unique features in the Anniversary cars include: rotaries made from worked metal of a heritage model piston from the relevant era; distinctive Anniversary Yellow accents on the side strakes and alloy wheels; White/black Duotone seat centre panels; unique sill plaques depicting the era the car relates to and featuring the Works Anniversary logo; distinctive colour and trim treatments that include features such as contrast yellow stitching in the leather, and new heavy weave carbon fibre.

The cars of course retain the standard technical features of the Vanquish super GT such as its 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine mated in a pioneering transaxle layout to the latest generation Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox. This provides the Vanquish with genuinely spirited performance: the 0-60mph time is a mere 3.6 seconds and the maximum speed tops 200mph.

Prices for the six cars are available on application at Aston Martin Works.

Some info on the One of Seven version...

Source: German Collector Commissions Seven Bespoke Aston Martin Vanquish Coupes

Aston Martin has announced that a German collector by the name of Markus Storck has commissioned a series of seven bespoke Vanquish sports cars for himself and presumably six of his friends. The automaker says that Storck, the founder of bicycle manufacturer Storck Bikes, has taken delivery of the first example and that the six other cars in the collection will go to six “fellow sports car aficionados.”

The cars were developed by the British automaker’s own Q by Aston Martin personalization department and feature carbon fiber elements throughout. One of the highlights is an exclusive exterior finish that sees multiple layers of carbon fibercleverly interwoven to a perfectly smooth finish, a result that required Aston Martin to develop an entirely new addition to its manufacturing process.

The carbon fiber is left bare in certain sections, with the rest of the body featuring satin black paint. The bespoke Vanquish also includes an array of luxurious and custom-made additions such as diamond quilting on the seats, “One of Seven” logos perforated into the head restraints, gloss black highlights around the cabin, and the signature Aston Martin wing logo machined out of pure carbon.

The mechanical bits were left untouched, which means the car’s 6.0-liter V-12 dishes out 568 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. This is enough for 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 4.0 seconds and a top speed in excess of 200 mph.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to see my vision for a series of bespoke Aston Martin Vanquish come to life like this,” Storck said after taking delivery of the car. “The attention to detail, service and dedication I have seen from the Q team has been exceptional—and the result is outstanding.”

Aston Martin's super-super GT will be revealed later this year with a brand new old name

The replacement for the Aston Martin Vanquish, set to appear later this year, will be called the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.

The DBS bit you know. That premiered on an Aston Martin as far back as 1967, and topped the Aston range in 2007. Superleggera? That’s a nod to Aston’s history with Touring Superleggera.

We’re told the Superleggera name hints at what we can expect from the next Vanquish – sorry, DBS Superleggera – when it arrives. “Super lightweight construction,” we’re informed. ‘Super powerful engine’ too, we suspect.

“We’ve pushed the boundaries of performance and design to give this car a distinct character and ensure it’s worthy of the heritage and weight that this name carries,” explains Aston’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman.

The Vanquish refresh is all part of Aston’s seven-year plan for seven new cars. You’ve seen the new DB11, and of course, the new Vantage. Next up is the Vanquish. As we noted a couple of years back, expect it to be a DB11 turned up to, well, 11.
The specifics will be confirmed in due course, but bank on close to 650bhp from that new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, and more aggressive styling than the DB11, and you’re about there.

“Sitting at the pinnacle of the sportscar line-up,” says Aston, “DBS Superleggera will feature the highest levels of performance, craftsmanship and design.”

Can’t wait. Though we must admit a little sadness at the demise of one of the car world’s coolest names. Adios, Vanquish.

https://www.motor1.com/news/260275/a...h-mid-engined/

Aston says it will be the most beautiful mid-engined car on the road.

Aston Martin fans were both happy and sad back in April when the company announced plans to dust off the DBS moniker for the Vanquish’s replacement. The new model, which was revealed at the end of last month, goes by the full name of DBS Superleggerato honor the Italian coachbuilders at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.

But the “Vanquish” nameplate isn’t being retired as the peeps from Gaydon have revealed the iconic name is merely on a hiatus and will return to become a badge on Aston Martin’s mid-engined supercar slotting below the Valkyrie. In an interview with Australian media during the international launch event of the DBS Superleggera in Germany, the company’s chief creative officer, Marek Reichmann, strongly hinted about keeping the “Vanquish” name alive:

As if that wasn’t clear enough, Aston Martin’s official went on to specify “Vanquish” will be put to good use on one of the firm’s seven cars bound to arrive within the next seven years.

Beyond the car’s name, Reichmann revealed significant progress has been made with development as the company already has a dozen of scale model designs as well as three fullsize models. Without going into details, Aston Martin’s chief creative officer mentioned it will be “the most beautiful mid-engined car on the road,” adding it will take advantage of the know-how obtained during the Valkyrie’s development process.

For obvious reasons, Reichmann did not disclose any of the mid-engined supercar’s technical specifications, but we already know it will bank on Red Bull Racing’s F1 expertise. Don’t hold your breath for a V12 as instead, the new Vanquish could use a V8 accompanied by an electric boost. We also know Aston’s 488 GTB fighter will benefit from a newly developed carbon fiber monocoque with aluminum sub-frames, so it should prove to be quite light. Add into the mix some active aero tech inherited from the Valkyrie, and then the McLaren 720S truly has something to worry about.

Expect the mid-engined machine to arrive at some point in 2020.

Aston Martin is putting the final touches to the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake and was recently snapped testing a prototype on the M25 highway in the UK, with the pic uploaded to Reddit.

The British manufacturer released renderings of the fourth member of the Vanquish Zagato family in October last year, confirming that it would join the Coupe, Volante and Speedster.

The Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is based on the Vanquish S, but has undergone a series of comprehensive modifications to entirely alter its persona and looks. Like its siblings, this involves all-new bodywork the includes a sculpted front grille, circular daytime running lights, sexy surfaces and an overhauled rear end. For the Shooting Brake, an elongated roof makes it stand out from the rest.

Unlike the car shown in the official renderings, this prototype doesn’t feature a gloss carbon fiber roof. In fact, it’s exterior appears to be painted exclusively in matte red, including the rear diffuser and side air vents. It doesn’t look quite as good without the black accents, but there’s no doubt the production model has one of the best-looking shapes in the industry.

As with the Coupe, Volante, and Speedster, the Shooting Brake is powered by an the Vanquish S’s naturally-aspirated 592 hp V12. Like the Coupe and Volante, Aston Martin will build just 99 examples of the Shooting Brake; the Speedster will be more exclusive than the rest, as just 28 units will be made.

https://carbuzz.com/news/aston-marti...l-in-the-metal

A prototype test mule of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake has been spotted for the first time.

Last summer, Aston Martin unveiled the awe-inspiring Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, which will be joining the Vanquish Zagato Coupe, Volante, and Speedster. So far, we’ve been able to marvel at its beauty in render images. Now, over a year later, a Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake prototype has been spotted in the metal for the first time. Prepare to pick your jaw up from the floor.

The first photo posted on Reddit shows the stunning shooting brake storming down the M23 UK highway, while photos shared by Twitter user @dusiue78 give us a clearer look at the camouflaged prototype being transported on the Eurotunnel to Calais. Like other cars in the Zagato Vanquish family, the Shooting Brake features carbon fiber body panels, Vulcan-inspired taillights and 3D Zagato ‘Z’ motifs in the front grille and rear vent meshes. Obviously, the Shooting Brake stands out from the rest thanks to its stretched roofline.

You’ll notice, however, that the prototype shown in these new photos doesn’t have a gloss carbon roof like the car shown in Aston Martin’s renders. The whole exterior appears to be painted in matte red, including the rear diffuser and side air vents. It’s a shame because the car doesn’t look quite as striking without the bold black accents. But we’re nit-picking here, because the shape still looks sensational.

Being based on the outgoing Vanquish S, the Shooting Brake is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 that produces 592 hp. Aston Martin is only building 99 examples of the Zagato Shooting Brake, which matches the production runs of the Coupe and Volante. The Speedster, on the other hand, will be even more limited, with just 28 units planned for production.

Vanquish Zagato Speedster & Shooting Brake

https://www.netcarshow.com/aston_mar...ato_speedster/

One of the most enduring creative partnerships in the automotive industry reached another milestone. First with the global debut of the Vanquish Zagato Volante, followed by confirmation that not only will the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster enter production, but it will be joined by a spectacular Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake.

This 'family' of four Vanquish Zagato models will yield a total of 325 cars. As the first member of the family, production of the Vanquish Zagato Coupes commenced in late 2016. Next to enter production was the Vanquish Zagato Volante. Once again strictly limited to 99 cars (all of which have been sold), production has commenced and deliveries will be completed through 2018.

Of the two remaining models, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster is the rarest, with a production run of just 28 cars. As you would expect from one of the most collectible and covetable Aston Martins ever, all 28 Vanquish Zagato Speedsters have been sold with deliveries scheduled for 2018. Completing the quartet, the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake will also enter production in 2018, with a total build run of 99 cars matching those of the Coupe and Volante.

With all four cars based upon the Vanquish S, each Zagato enjoys the combination of 600PS naturally-aspirated V12 mated to the smooth, slick-shifting Touchtronic III transmission. Together with adaptive damping - fine-tuned for each model - the Vanquish Zagato family promises exceptional driving pleasure that is every bit as stimulating and memorable as their design.

The Speedster and Shooting Brake represent the two extremes of the Vanquish Zagato family. The former is an uncompromising roofless design that expresses the raw excitement of an open-top ultra-high performance sports car. The boldest aspect of the Speedster's design is the Speed Humps that rise up to form streamlined cowls that flow back from the seats, representing Zagato's signature 'double-bubble' roof. All the body panels are made from carbon fibre (like the other cars in the Vanquish Zagato family), while shared details, such as the Aston Martin Vulcan-inspired 'Blade' tail lights and repeated 3D Zagato 'Z' motifs in the front grille and rear vent meshes, create an unbroken stylistic thread that connects these otherwise individual creations.

The Shooting Brake is still a strict two-seater, but one conceived as an individual and exceptionally practical GT. The extended roof on the concept sketch bears the iconic Zagato 'double-bubble' surfacing complete with glass inlays to let light flood into the cockpit. The sculptural roof culminates in a powered tailgate that opens onto a luxuriously trimmed rear cabin area, complete with a tailored luggage set. With dramatic herringbone carbon fibre facia with anodised bronze rotary controls, extensive 'Z' motif quilting and the option of a fully aniline leather upholstery, the Shooting Brake is a fitting complement to the Coupe, Volante and Speedster.

https://www.motor1.com/news/564667/a...vanquish-2025/

Although the DBX is now the driving force behind Aston Martin's sales boom, performance cars will forever remain at the core of the Gaydon-based marque. Even the SUV has spawned a go-faster version with nearly 700 horsepower and a 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.1 seconds. Speaking of the new DBX707, the company had a roundtable with journalists to talk about the Bentayga Speed competitor and discuss future products.

Tobias Moers, Aston Martin CEO and former AMG head honcho, told us the Valhalla is still coming. The AM-RB 003 concept debuted in March 2019 before the final version was unveiled in July last year. According to the German executive, the production model will arrive in 2024 and will share the drivetrain with the firm’s entry-level supercar, the Vanquish.

As a refresher, the Vanquish was also introduced as a concept car in March 2019 with a radical makeover compared to past models by adopting a mid-engined layout. It too had a turbocharged V6 as part of a hybrid powertrain. Moers told Motor1.com the production model is scheduled to go on sale in 2025 or about a year after the Valhalla. The two will share a flat-plane crank engine, which will be built in-house.

We'll remind you that Valhalla has lost the concept's twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 in favor of a larger twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 featuring a flat-plane crankshaft. When Aston Martin released images and details of the production model, it didn't mention anything about the combustion engine being related to Mercedes-AMG's unit installed in the Black Series. With Moers now saying the gasoline mill is going to be manufactured within AM, it appears the British brand is doing most (if not all) of the work on its own.

The V8 will rev at up to 7,200 rpm, thus matching the Black Series' redline. Together with an electric motor, the Valhalla was touted as having 937 horsepower (699 kilowatts) and 738 pound-feet (1,000 Newton-meters) of torque. The hybrid punch is said to propel the sub-Valkyrie machine to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.5 seconds before hitting 217 mph (350 km/h).

Sitting at the bottom of the supercar chain, the Vanquish won’t be able to match these output and performance numbers. The two are still a long way off, so a lot could change between now and 2024/2025. However, it seems Aston Martin is determined to launch a pair of supercars to complement the Valkyrie hypercar.
