Finally official pics. Much like the GT-R though, this car has been in the works forever. Looks good though, puts the Panamera too shame.

hot. although...

the interior pics are really surprising. thought the rear cabin would be more stately. those rear seats are like jump-seats in a box...kind of a let down considering the objective of the car in the first place.

If you only looked at the weird angled picture, sure. But those are full-size rear seats. It's not a Maybach, but it's no S10 ZR2 either.

What's with the huge center tunnel in the rear? It takes up so much space, and makes the cabin seem cramped. I hope there's a mini bar in there.

Priced From £139,950

From Motor Authority: http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1...ed-from-139950

You know all about the 2010 Aston Martin Rapide, you've read about its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, you know it has a revised version of the DB9's sweet/vicious 6.0-liter V-12 engine. You even know it's rated at 470 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. But today Aston has revealed its one remaining secret: its price.

Well, sort of. The UK price for the Rapide will start at £139,950, or about $235,000. That's a pretty steep price for a car that's ostensibly competitive with the likes of the Porsche Panamera in terms of capacity and performance, though Aston's cars typically cost considerably more. In this case, it's about $100,000-$140,000 more.

There's no denying that the Aston is the more attractive of the two, so that style alone may be worth part of the price premium. Still, the fact stands that in order to get your hands on one of these fantastically styled and capable sedans, you'll have to offer up a chunk of cash that'd buy you a nice suburban home in middle America.

Thankfully, Aston Martin's official photography shows the super-sedan in almost every way imaginable, inside and out--the only things missing to our tech-obsessed minds are undercarriage and engine bay shots--offering a chance to see where each and every one of those dollars goes.

it looks really nice. $235,000 nice? not so sure.

if I'm going to spend that much coin on a 4-door, I'll get the Bentley Flying Spur Speed. 600hp W12, 553 ft-lbs, 0-60 4.5 sec, 200 mph, around $240k. And, I think it looks WAY BETTER than the Aston. From certain angles the Aston just looks odd.

you know what, I'd rather have a 2009 S65 than either the Bentley or the Aston. I think they are going for around 100 these days, maybe even lower.

US Price Announced... $199,950

PRESS RELEASE

Aston Martin Announces Rapide Pricing for the United States

Irvine, 5th December 2009. As the eagerly awaited Aston Martin Rapide four-door sports car goes through final engineering and testing phases before being launched in early quarter two 2010, Aston Martin confirms US pricing.

The price of the Rapide will start from $199,950 in the US which features an impressive level of standard specification including: Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system tailored specifically for Rapide, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.

The Rapide is Aston Martin's first production four-door sports car encapsulating the practicality of a car with extra doors and fusing it with the trademark sports car dynamics synonymous with modern Aston Martins.

Customer deliveries will commence in spring 2010, and it will be the first sports car to be hand-built at the Aston Martin Rapide Plant (AMRP) in Graz, Austria. The new 17,000 m2 building has been designed to reflect the quality levels established in Gaydon since 2003 permitting the fusion of modern technology, advanced manufacturing processes and handbuilt craftsmanship. Each Rapide will take approximately 220 man hours to build and will benefit from timeless craft skills just like the existing range: DBS, DB9, V12 and V8 Vantage do at Gaydon.

It is anticipated that +/- 2,000 Rapides will be built in the first year attracting a high proportion of new customers to the brand. Core to this trend is the mix of huge attention to detail throughout the car, ample accommodation for up to four adults and the spacious trunk while maintaining Rapide's elegant beauty and sports car profile.

The Rapide is on sale now available to order from the Aston Martin dealership network across North America.

At 199k, that isn't too bad considered the Maybach and RR Phantom are WAY more.

As sporty as it might drive, it still looks like something I'd rather be chauffeured around in.
