Ferrari, Porsche, and Lambo still have soft-tops so folding hardtop isn't a deal killer.

All of these cars have a retractable hardtop and everybody would have to agree the lines of a hardtop are better than a softtop. You'd think Aston would incorporate this as an option.

I shoot people
while I do agree the lines of a hardtop convt. are better, but aren't hardtop convertibles A LOT heavier? I looked up the curb weight for the 335 coupe and hardtop convertible and the difference is: couple/convertible-3571lbs/3946lbs, a difference of 375lbs(!). Maybe it's a weight issue the designers were concern about....

Yea, both of you have valid points. I'm just looking at it strictly as my opinion on what looks better, but weight and design are two big items to consider. All the high end faster cars don't seem to have a retractable top, maybe at 200mph they don't hold up.

Aston Martin DBS sold out for 5 years
The Aston Martin DBS has sold out for the next five years, a new report finds. Aston Martin has reportedly received 1,500 orders for the new DBS. According to Aston Martin, the company plans to produce 300 examples of the DBS a year, which equates to a five year waiting list.
In an interview with AutoCar, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez said that the automaker is exploring ways to increase production in order to keep customers happy and from buying a car from a competing marque.
The backup in production could also delay future products. Production of the upcoming four-door Rapide – which is scheduled to bow in 2009 or 2010 — might have to outsourced in order to keep up with its production schedule. It's also possible that the Vanquish replacement will be delayed due to the high volume of DBS orders.

DBS Volante Spied on the Ring
From WCF...
The stunning Aston Martin DBS was well received with much salivation in August of last year. Then, first spy photos of a convertible (Volante) version appeared during cold weather testing in Scandinavia this past January. These latest spy photos now put the same prototype undergoing handling-tests on Germany's world famous Nürburgring.
Besides the steel roof and the rear quarter glass being replaced by a folding canvas top, not much else is changing including the 0-100 km/h time which arrives in just over 4 seconds despite the extra weight from additional reinforcement to the body structure. The same 6.0 liter V12 producing 517 bhp and 570 Nm of torque remains in tact as well.
The Aston Martin DBS Volante is expected to be priced at just below 300,000 Euros.

So, I went to Grand Touring Autos on Dupont St. in Toronto, yesterday...and yeah, the Aston Martin portion of the show room...
...I think that's what heaven looks like.
I walked out with an AM keychain which I paid $30 for. All that I could afford...
