The rear really looks like an Accord coupe's. I really like the front though... it'll be interesting to see how they fit the front styling theme from the TSX and TL into a more upscale-marketed car. But AWD...

I agree, I'd like to see pics too...but let's not hijack this thread to talk about a different vehicle. Maybe we should take this somewhere else.

Acura RL mentioned in Newsweek article "Getting a beat on BMW"

Take it for what it's worth...

I really don't agree with the article. BMW has great market presence. I see where they're going with the Infiniti and Acura thing, but it won't go beyond that. The Japanese will compete more effectively with the newer products, but they will not overtake.

I uploaded a few recent pictures on the VehiCross board, you should be able to get to them at:

If not go to www.vehicross.info/gallery and search for VX1

Alright, now Acura, SHOW ME THE RL!!!

Like I said in other threads, this whole BMW thing is just a "fad". The name used bring in the customers because they had substance to go with it. Well guess what - other mnakers have the substance now too. That BMW logo on the front of the hood will not be enough to bring in more customers.

BMW has great driving dynamics, but other manufacturers are figuring it out and bringing more horsepower to boot. Plus, those ugly designs are starting to drive away a small number of BMW loyalists and many buyers new to the market.

Interior: :wackit:
Exterior:

The exterior styling reminds me of the new Camry front end and the old Altima rear for some reason. It doesn't inspire me to drop 50 large. It just doesn't look the tits like the TL. If this is trying to compete with the M45 then on looks alone, it's the definite loser. But hey, maybe it'll grow on me.

The interior is a different story. That looks awesome.

Sorry for the two posts in a row.
Acura needs to rebadge all their cars as Honda. This car can be a tl type S.
I guess i'm just piss.
Infiniti/Lexus all the way. Does Honda sell more cars in Jap than the U.S?

Not impresed by the exterior styling of it. Its bland and booring to me, which is what they needed to avoid for the RL. Im sure it will sell better then the current one, but its not nearly as good looking as the TL. The interior is nice though, but i also dont know about the nob in the middle. When i first saw the TL in pics, i didnt realy like it but it realy grew on me, hopefully this will. Also keep in mind that this is the "concept" RL, so its possible that they may soften it even more for production, which i can see them doing. Acura needs to take a look at what infinity is doing, and do such a thing...they have had somehting new at practicly every auto show this year. Acura needs another coupe, styled after the TL to compete with the g35 coupe, they needed to make the RL more sporty or more elegant looking...this is just...nothing-ness to me...i get no emotional excitment out of this. They need to give the RSX a refresh BADLY...i meen, thats not to hard for them to do and wouldnt cost much money, and would generate buzz for this product that too me has run its couse as it is now, and the TSX should be offered in a type s version or something to that effect by now, its been out for a year. Finally, although we have sceen the HSC concept which should become the next NSX, they need that NOW not in 2 years to generate more buzz for the brand, because although most people wont be able to buy one, it will get people in the showroom and talking about Acura again... Who ever is in charge of marketing at Honda needs to wake up and do something with both the Honda and Acura brand, as they are both being left in the dust by Nissian and Toyota.

WOW. I have to give these guys kudos... very nice indeed. And true to the drawings we say earlier. I luv those big pipes, wheels, and interior. That interior blew me away like the M45's did... very very nice.

Its a little Mercedes. But I like it. It makes it sporty but still luxury. It would be nice if they kept it alittle more square but they finally got all the cars with that genreal look, to bad they are starting to be like nissan.

I love BMWs alot and I still think that they are the most sporty-driver oriented luxury company on the market. No other company seems to do it better... for now. But with the recent controversial styling and ever expansion of the car group and it's lineup (thank god they at least dumped Range Rover off their group), I think they might be finanically stretching themselves thin.

I mean, think about it... they have a whole MINI brand that they are just beginning to expand, which has to cost them quite a bit of their capital (MINI profits can't be that high). To top that off, they are expanding their own lineup with various new models (1 series, 2 series, 6 series, X3). Plus, they are introducing the new 3 series and 4 series. When did they have time to truely improve the dynamics of their cars when all these projects were taking up their time? BMW isn't a huge money company in the likes of MB or Ford.

Of course the TL and G35 are going to beat out their 3 series, they are brand new cars. The current 3 series is dated compared to the new products. But the new 3 series should give a better indication of how far the Japanese luxury brands come in terms of competing against the Euros. But BMW is definitely being challenged directly now on their terms, especially by Infiniti.

Junkster, who thinks the next 3 series will probably do well.

The front is a little bland. It's definitely not as aggressive as the sketch. I think it resembles the Camry a little.

Maybe it will grow on me, as I was really looking at this as my next car.

The interior, however, is badass. I think Acura did a great job in the interior design, much like the TL, but many steps above.

pimp. acura seems to be getting back on track, but true defining factor is what will be under the hood. will it still be the underpowered luxo-car, or the awesome powered hybrid.

plus the fucking huge ass center knob throws me off, but hell, the car is hot.

styling's a lil too subtle on the exterior, especially the rear.
interior's an A+++ except for that ugly, fat knob

but 300hp and AWD =

those are some big ass wheels. wonder if those will come on the production models?

interior is great too.

does look kind of 'accord-ish' though, and that knob is ginormous

not bad.

back looks like an old S class.

otherwise, it looks leaps and bounds better than the current one. the interior looks like a winner and if its priced properly then it should sell pretty well.

hmmm..it doesnt look as great as it did in the pictures. I love the interior but the exterior is alright looking. It looks like i'll probably be staying with infiniti since the m45 is simply beautiful

Im not all that impressed, I like the new M45 much better. The front already looks dated...like a cross between a last gen camry and a catera.

It's okay looking...the exterior styling reminds me of too many cars: TL (front view), old S (trunk lid), 645 (tail lights), I30 (pic #9), Catera (pic #6, 7)..I'm sure there are some others.

But the interior looks really nice.
