Honda is recalling more than 750,000 cars, SUVs, minivans and pickups over a defect that causes air bags to deploy when they should not.
The recall includes models of the Honda Civic, Accord, CR-V, Fit, HR-V, Insight, Odyssey, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline, as well as the Acura MDX, RDX and TLX, from model years between 2020 and 2022.
Acura is owned by Honda.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that because of the flaw, frontal and knee air bags could deploy in a crash when deployment should not happen. It could cause injuries to infants in car seats, children, and anyone smaller than 4 feet 11 inches, the agency said.

The specific defect is that a "capacitor in the printed circuit board of the front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and lead to an internal short circuit from the exposure to environmental humidity," NHTSA said in a report dated Monday.
The circuit board problem originated with a supplier that switched the base material of the board because of a natural disaster, according to the agency.
Honda has had no reports of injuries or deaths related to the problem as of Jan. 19.
The specific vehicles affected are:

Recall on certain MDX-S, TLX-S & Pilot
Honda/Acura has issued a recall for some engine issues involving loss of power. Remedy involves a software update. The recall impacts certain 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S, 2023-2025 Honda Pilot, and 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type-S models. According to the NHTSA, a fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) software error may lead to engine failure, increasing the risk of crashes or injuries. See link below for further details.

Honda and Acura are recalling 65,135 Prologue and ZDX SUVs due to separate software issues impacting the reverse camera display and the instrument cluster. The recall population covers 19,573 Acura models and 45,562 Hondas. The entire recall population consists of 2024 models.
According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the electric SUVs may fail to properly display important information on the instrument cluster and center infotainment screens while driving. Specifically, the instrument panel may fail to display crucial information such as the speedometer and any warning messages. In the case of the infotainment screen, the defect may keep the rearview camera imagery from displaying while the vehicle is reversing. According to the recall documents, the issues may be intermittent and could be resolved temporarily by restarting the car.
NHTSA paperwork states that the Radio Control Module has six different software defects that affect the instrument panel and the infotainment screen. Each defect can occur independently and can restrict the Radio Control Module from transmitting data properly. The defects can also crash or restart the software, causing both screens to go blank. As of February 19, Honda reported 148 warranty claims but no injuries or crashes related to the recall defect.
Honda will begin notifying affected owners on April 20, 2026, with instructions to bring their vehicle to a Honda dealership to have the recall fix. Dealers will update the Radio Control Module software with an improved program that negates the defects. Owners concerned that their vehicle is impacted by the recall can check on the NHTSA site.
