I dont know why you insist on a manual 335i.... not an auto 340i.. but whatever. haha.

If you think that a TLX V6 has no acceptable acceration from idle, then a manual 335i is no significantly better. Just saying.
I will dare to say that a RDX 2.0Toy is not even close (within 10%) to both of them. Just to save this thread.

have you even driven a manual 335i before? if you have, we probably wont be having this conversation now. and why manual 335i? Because i had one, 3 years ago?
I said you have the slowest car in the segment. Do you?
whether a manual 335i is .1 sec faster or 1 sec faster. it is faster. So i am still right and you are still wrong and clueless.
Your TLX V6 is as fast as Accord 2.0T.... so No shit a heavier RDX is going to be slower.
what matters is if the 2.0T RDX faster than the V6 RDX.

I don't even know how they measure 5-60 accurately. 5mph = 8km/h... I find it incredibly difficult to keep my manual at exactly 8km/h and then hammering the throttle. You can't set cruise control that low either. So you're eyeballing the car, hoping it's at exactly 5mph, when really, it can be 4mph, or 6mph, and then go.. me thinks that metric really needs to be taken with a grain of salt. At least 0-60 is consistent off the line. It's much easier to rev your engine up and drop the clutch than it is to go exactly 8km/h.
It's not exactly easy reading 8km/h on the gauges either. I've also always wondered how accurate a speedo is at that low of speed, and if all speedos read the same at such a low speed.

Also, whether it's 3-60, 4-60, 5-60, 6-60, it doesn't really matter much. When you are at such low speed, the time it takes to gain that 1 mph or so is negligible. It's different than say, accelerating from 100mph. To gain 1mph would take considerably more time at that speed.
Not sure if this makes sense...
The 0-60mph time represents the best you can get after several attempts with different techniques. It's actually not very consistent. Sometimes you get the launch right with the right amount of wheelspin, sometimes you don't have enough revs and the engine bogs down, sometimes you keep the revs too high and you have way too much wheel spin. It can be consistent if you have launch control and/or if your car has low power. Otherwise, if you have something like a Civic Type R, it's not that easy to consistently do 0-60mph in 4.9s......for the reasons mentioned above.
Back to the RDX...well, the RDX would (or should) be easy to launch with AWD, 10AT, and not a whole lot of power.

Acura just launched the 2019 Acura RDX crossover, and what better way to kick things off than a little motorsport? That's right, Acura will be racing a modified RDX in none other than the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
It's Acura's seventh consecutive year participating in the daring ascent, which sees 156 turns over the course of 12.4 miles. On June 24, the RDX will attempt the climb to the summit's elevation of 14,114 feet. To help its Exhibition Class run, the RDX's 2.0L VTEC engine has been given a larger turbocharger and an electric supercharger, which brings output up to 350 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle also benefits from race-tuned suspension, custom 19-inch wheels and Pirelli racing tires, and front Brembo brakes. Behind the wheel will be by Jordan Guitar of Acura R&D's North American Chassis Development Group.
The RDX will be joined at the race by three other Acuras: a production-based NSX competing in the Time Attack 1 Class, and two TLXs in the Open Class. One is a TLX A-Spec with an upgraded suspension and 500-horsepower turbo V6. The other is a TLX GT with a modified twin-turbo V6 and suspension developed specifically for Pikes Peak.

The journalist in the last video is very good. The previous one cost 41-46K ($CA) and now this 2019 is 45-55K ($CA), A-Spec starts at a whopping 52K.
I think that it won't sell as well as it used to.

It depends how well Acura can market this car against the Germans. This looks as good or better than the Q5 with the new SH-AWD system. I get the feeling Acura will sell these by the truckloads.

Agreed. I don't remember there being nearly this much excitement around the release of the 2G RDX.

I also feel that while they may alienate some of their current customer base, they will move a bit upscale and attract more and new customers a bit higher up the food chain.
I still maintain that the 4G TL didn't sell well not due to its higher price, but more so due to its polarizing looks. I remember being super excited back in 08 when I heard about the new TL coming soon, thinking how they would improve upon the 3G TL.. and then I saw it. And was confused. I thought it was a PR stunt at first. Nope, that was the fugliest car Acura ever designed and built.

They jacked the price so much that I wouldn't surprised they would make more money because the margin increased dramatically despite lower sales. As always, it is more loaded, but I don't see fit to see the starting price to be the same as a Q5.

I think they should relocate the DRL... it makes it look very DIY when it is near the bottom of the bumper.

Those lower lights on the 2019 RDX look like LED fog lights, not DRL.

^ Those amber lights look like turn signal or "parking lights". They may be bi-color LED's which are yellow/white which get used for combo DRL/turnsignals quite frequently

RDX-tasy: Why the 2019 Acura RDX's Sound System Is So Addictive
By Brian Wong
July 13, 2018
That's partly ignorance (I'm not an audiophile) and partly because I think that above a certain baseline, stereos all sound pretty much alike to me. Obviously, there's a difference in quality between a system found in a high-end luxury vehicle and one found in, say, a Nissan Versa, but at a certain point they all just sound "good" to me.
Related: 2019 Acura RDX 1st Drive: Finally, Not a Warmed-Over Honda However, exposure to the proverbial finer things has changed all that. Similar to how I used to like my wine out of a box until I learned there was a better way, the ELS Studio audio system found in the new 2019 Acura RDX is a car stereo of a finer vintage.
The ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio system (its full name) is found on RDX models with the A-Spec or Advance packages equipped. The A-Spec starts at $44,495, while the Advance starts at $46,395, both prices including a $995 destination charge. A 12-speaker ELS Studio system is found on Technology models, but that's not the one you want — you want the full ELS 3D Studio system with 16 speakers because it adds four high-range speakers into the ceiling, and those are what sets that system apart from others.
Sound engineers told me that those ceiling speakers are especially important because they're able to send sound directly to the passengers — no head restraints, seats or other trim pieces get in the way. From those speakers, the sound goes directly to your ears, and for that reason, they have a high dynamic range (a fancy way of saying that they can handle both high and low notes).
I don't pretend to understand the science behind this, but it certainly makes the ELS system sound very clear even with the volume cranked up pretty high. This technology is utilized on 14 of the system's 16 speakers (minus the tweeters, which produce only high-frequency sounds).
," with her voice ringing in a circle around the RDX. Such surround-sound audio files aren't available to the general public, so this unfortunately isn't something that consumers can replicate. But the system does come with DTS Neural Surround, which can simulate surround sound from stereo tracks by highlighting layers in songs that you may not have known existed.
This also raised the question of sourcing and sound quality. Different sources offer a different quality of sound; for example, the quality is different with satellite radio, HD radio and audio coming from your phone via Bluetooth or a USB port. Fun fact: A good old-fashioned CD (I can't believe I said that) is often the best source for the highest sound quality. To fight this, the ELS system has 13 different equalizer profiles that the system can choose among for different sources even if the source has a lower-quality bitrate (a way of measuring the quality of the audio). For example, satellite radio has a lower sound quality, but the software for the system chooses a profile to use that Acura says enhances the signal to make it sound fuller and more spacious.
While our impressions of the RDX's new multimedia system are mixed, the sound system's prowess should not be controversial. This is a wonderful-sounding and well-thought-out system that matches the redesigned RDX's cabin quality and driving experience. It's icing on what is turning out to be a pretty yummy cake from Acura — one we can't wait to taste-test against the rest of this popular class.

When I cover a vehicle for Cars.com, the sound system has typically been low on my list of my priorities. Thinking back on the reviews I've written, I don't know that I've mentioned a sound system beyond how many speakers it has or which options package it's a part of.That's partly ignorance (I'm not an audiophile) and partly because I think that above a certain baseline, stereos all sound pretty much alike to me. Obviously, there's a difference in quality between a system found in a high-end luxury vehicle and one found in, say, a Nissan Versa, but at a certain point they all just sound "good" to me.

The Sounds of Science
2019 Acura RDX Advance
The name ELS comes from Elliot Scheiner, a music producer who Acura has consulted with on its audio systems since the early 2000s in conjunction with Panasonic. According to Acura, much of the 2019 RDX's development was done with this very sound system in mind. This is evidenced by the ceiling speakers, which somehow find a way to fit despite a panoramic moonroof up there. Even the C-pillar, which houses one of the 16 speakers on either side of the RDX, was shaped to funnel sound to the passengers.Cars.com photo by Brian Wong
2019 Acura RDX Advance
The system also uses a technology called Acoustic Motion Control, which helps the system to sound clearer at high volumes. Often in sound systems, with the volume up, the sound can be muddled — especially bass notes — because a speaker behaves, in some ways, like a spring. After the sound stops, it can continue to vibrate, which causes what you're hearing to become distorted. In the ELS Studio system, it can detect when a speaker is still moving when it shouldn't be, and a countersignal is sent to the speaker to stop that motion.Manufacturer image

A Setting for Every Source
2019 Acura RDX Advance
I also had a chance to hear the system's 5.1 surround-sound capability. Some audio tracks were remastered into surround sound, and it was fun to listen to Missy Elliott's "

Different sources offer a different quality of sound; for example, the quality is different with satellite radio, HD radio and audio coming from your phone via Bluetooth or a USB port. For example, satellite radio has a lower sound quality, but the software for the system chooses a profile to use that Acura says enhances the signal to make it sound fuller and more spacious.
Your Own Zone
2019 Acura RDX Advance
There was 1 final feature of the system that families especially will appreciate: It comes with four audio zones. This functions like an improved version of the faders and balancers found in most sound systems. The system uses the roof-mounted speakers to really isolate sound in one of the four zones (full vehicle, driver-only, front-only or rear only). While I was seated in the backseat, the audio was shifted to front-only and, while I could hear it vaguely, the sound didn't really bleed back at all. So if the kids don't want to listen to a podcast or talk radio, they can enjoy relative peace and quiet in the back while you catch up on current events.Cars.com photo by Brian Wong

Acura Reveals 2021 RDX PMC Edition in Stunning Thermal Orange Pearl Paint
September 22, 2020 — TORRANCE, Calif.
- 2021 RDX PMC Edition follows TLX and MDX to be hand-built alongside NSX at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC)
- Combining A-Spec and Advance Package features, PMC Edition sits atop the RDX lineup, distinguished by retina-searing supercar paint
- Production of the exclusive RDX PMC Edition limited to just 360 units
- Combining A-Spec and Advance Package features, PMC Edition sits atop the RDX lineup, distinguished by retina-searing supercar paint
Acura’s top-selling SUV over the last two years gains a healthy dose of NSX supercar DNA with the creation of the 2021 RDX PMC Edition, the fourth vehicle hand assembled by master technicians at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Ohio. Only 360 units of the RDX PMC Edition will be built for the North American market, each bathed in stunning Thermal Orange Pearl paint shared with the electrified NSX supercar. The range topping RDX PMC Edition will carry a sticker price in the low $50,000s1 when the first customer deliveries begin this October.
The RDX PMC Edition is the most well equipped RDX variant, combining the top-shelf features from the RDX Advance Package with the aggressive and sporty styling cues of the RDX A-Spec. Exclusive to the RDX PMC Edition are gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels; a body color grille surround; black chrome exhaust finishers; and gloss-black treatment for the roof, side mirrors and door handles. As with previous PMC Edition models, Acura’s industry leading torque vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) is standard equipment.
The RDX PMC Edition’s Thermal Orange Pearl exterior is complemented on the inside with color-matched orange stitching for the seats, center console, door panels, steering wheel and floor mats. Mixing A-Spec style with the Advance Package’s premium touches, the RDX PMC edition features a 10.5-inch color Head-Up Display, 16-way power Sport Seats trimmed in Ebony Milano leather and Ultrasuede®, heated steering wheel and heated outboard rear seats.
Bringing RDX PMC Edition to Life
The 2021 Acura RDX follows the unique formula established with the TLX and MDX PMC Edition models. Once the body-in-white arrives at PMC, each RDX PMC Edition is finished in Thermal Orange Pearl paint, a striking premium paint offered on NSX since 2019. The paint is applied using PMC's advanced robotic paint system in multiple base coats to enhance color intensity. Next a mid-coat of gold and orange mica is applied giving off a pearlescent effect in the sunlight. Lastly, four layers of clearcoat are applied to increase the paint's luster and protect the finish. Each PMC Edition undergoes the same meticulous hand inspection process given to the NSX. The total time in paint, including curing, is five days.
Immediately following the paint process, PMC master technicians begin hand assembly, starting with installation of all drivetrain and chassis components, wiring harnesses and electronics. Once completed, the PMC Edition 20-inch wheels and tires and exterior trim are added. The final step in the process is to fit the vehicle with its unique interior including an individually numbered serial plate affixed to the RDX’s center console.
After completing the hand assembly process, every RDX PMC Edition undergoes an identical quality control process as NSX, which includes a full electronic systems line-end test, expert wheel alignment, dyno run, water-leak test and final paint examination. Before exiting PMC, each vehicle is wrapped in a protective film and loaded onto an enclosed, single-car carrier for transport to an Acura dealer.
