6MT is fantastic, car drives like an Si but less frantic and more comfortable. Audio system good, materials good, backseat space good, handling good. CVT is good for a CVT (still lousy but is not a dealbreaker for regular folks). Sounds like it's what most people expected it to be based on what it looked like on paper.
I think the most interesting thing is that the CVT is gutless down low to the point where you can have the front wheels turned from a stop and it still can't get the tires to slip. Honda/Acura made it sound like the CVT wouldn't detract from the car, but based on the initial impressions it sure sounds like it's still a letdown even if it's good by CVT standards.

There's no way the chassis is big enough to handle the twin-scroll 6 in the TLX Type S...

Is it confirmed the infotainment is not the same as the TLX/RDX/MDX? The pics appear to confirm this. Hope the CarPlay is more stable...

Only time would tell if it's a success.
However, since it's "unofficially" taking the spot of the ILX (which sells well because it's cheap.. cheapest Acura) those with the ILX or ILX style buyers who really want an Acura but don't have type-s money will buy the Integra.
The market is shifting quickly to EV which Acura is still way behind the ball, so that will hurt sales. 2nd part, the greedy dealerships will mark these up just because of the name "INTEGRA". False hope of buying some iconic without iconic roots.
Enthusiasts will scoop up the 6MT, that's for sure.

Comments section pretty much sums it up. (another over hyped product)

PERFORMANCE (C/D EST)
60 mph: 7.1–7.4 sec
For $36,895...
Why does C/D mention A3 and CLA, but not GTI? Only because Acura is trying to be upscale?
Read that Integra review and then read this one. Who would want the Acura?

^ This.
I hope someone in marketing at Acura gets fired over this lol. Downside is that they'll go complain that they made a manual but no one wanted it.

The Hyundai would get my money too. The Acura doesn't offer anything especially for the price

The Elantra N is the easy choice here....it's more comparable to the CTR than this Integra. Maybe the Elantra N Line is closer to this thing.

Camry is pretty fast! And looks good, too.
Thanks for that. Looks like a nice FWD car. Too bad no sunroof is offered for the manual version. And no hatchback.
I would definitely highly consider that over the Integra.
Or this one.. and i get to keep $4k in my pocket for a tune and other mods.

Yah but it also offers a lot more that a 37k integra doesn't. I just dont understand how Acura could price a 200hp Integra the same as the current Gen CTR.
Powertrain aside, the exhaust note, Brembo brakes, summer tires among other things.
I personally would take those over sunroof. Actually sunroof is so useless to me that i would take the 100 lbs weight saving over it
Someone could have mine.

and this is some living in the 626 with a white BMW.. the definition of typical

FWIW, my son just got a 2022 Kia K5 GT. It's a NICE looking car, good looking interior, very sporty looking, and up close it appears to be a terrific value at ~$30k. Its not going to thrill the enthusiasts from a raw HP perspective, but it handles very well. Kia/Hyundai have their act together. This coming from someone who's wife owned a 1987 Hyundai Excel which by any measure might be one of the worst cars ever made.

Coworker just traded in her 140k miles 2014 Optima SXL for a new Sorento EX (I think).
Personally, wouldn't have a problem with a Kia/Hyundai. But the dealer she got hers form has a $4k markup on every car on the lot

The more important question is are you . cuz that is what Yumcha was referring to.
Cuz nice looking as K5 is, i would still take the Accord over it.
But their N cars are a performance/fun bargain cars that i would absolutely take over any Japanese or EU brands at that price point ($33K-35k). Except for the Corolla since ordered one

That's what the TSX did. 20 years later and that's still where they're at?
Acura ≠ Performance

To be fair, that TSX (w/NAV) which in say 2006 had an MSRP of $31K, would be over $44K today adjusted for inflation. So while performance hasn't gotten better (and mileage only marginally better), the value is there.

How was the Hyundai Elantra 20 years ago? Two decades is a long time for things to improve and it's pretty terrible when things haven't improved. Pretty much every car in every segment is better, faster, and more efficient than they were 20 years ago...except for this one?
Well the J3X series engine is still in Honda/Acura's line up right now... so ..... if you had a kid when Honda/Acura introduced the J series, you would be a grandpa by now
Edit: I kinda shocked myself right now after reading what i just wrote.. fuck i am getting old.

. . . . . and to top it all off, it looks almost exactly (to me) like a Civic.

I was at an Honda Acura Classic show at an Acura dealership over the past weekend. They had on display a white A-spec (automatic) Integra. I believe without a markup, it was 35 or 37K (can't remember the exact number). I walked around and sat in it. They asked me if I wanted to go for a test drive, I declined. I didn't feel impressed with it at all. A lot of the interior seemed awfully cheap, like a serious step in the wrong direction. The over hype as they claim this is a high performance vehicle.. but where?!.. The "Real" integras were parked up near the display booth as were the S2000's and any NSX's. Those iconic vehicles really stole the show. Even had an NSX-S on display that didn't draw in the amount of attention it should have. I spoke to a wonderful gentleman who purchased from Honda America a 2008 TL-S 6MT which currently has 2000 miles. He also owns a 91 NSX. He said "Out of all my vehicles, this is my favorite" (TL-S). I sat inside my TL and it felt way more upscale than the Integra, minus the dated technology. Sometimes, even with all the newer technology, they can still be bland, dull, boring vehicles to drive. Here are some photos including of my TL

^ You would think they would at least make the interior look like the RDX or the TLX since it is a Acura. Nope, they carbon copy the interior from the Civic to make sure everyone knows it is a Civic...

Acura is too focused on their marketing bs instead of actually making a solid product that does what they claim. In their prime years, the difference between models were obvious. As @Acura TL Builder pointed out in his thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...lineup-999375/
"The body lines, window designs, headlights, taillights, body contours. all the same."
Acurazine isn't exclusive to Acura owners ONLY (felt exclusive back in the days). There are Facebook community standard like hall monitors here which would label us as "Haters" for having an opinion about Acura or anything Acura related.
