It was a coinflip, okay? And unfortunately, it was more weighed against BMW because the stealerships here are run by morons. Seriously, their service teams blow gonads and that's not even me being picky.

Since we've segued back to this fiasco, I guess I should ask a serious question to @oonowindoo: You work at a Bimbim place, right? Are the 2019s in stock yet? Or are you guys like Audi with vapor new-year models too?

It's cuz we know his personality and so, Audi decided to not deal with the constant drone from him and get him off their backs. Me, well...I'm classy and nice. And they know I'll be understanding and patient. Cuz, that's just the swell guy I am.

As everyone can see...Acura's lack of Dev and Tech news has now somehow deviated about how some poor sap has not take delivery of his car despite ordering it months ago.

People are clearly bored.

Correct. He wished me good luck with kind words (sounded like a gentleman) and then threw me under the bus. What a f*ing asshole. No surprise that Audi gave me my car first.

But he is nothing compared to the ever anal-retentive 007spy00. lol.

It was fun for a while (try 17 years), this is likely to be my [real] last post. I just wish that AZ's minority of proper mods take over the majority of litterally CRAZY ones.

Unless that AZ website and Acura brand deserve each other.

*Bye*

Acura Marks 15th Anniversary of Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™

Jan 30, 2019 - TORRANCE, Calif.
  • Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) performance technology spans four generations, currently available on 5 of 6 Acura models
  • Global sales of SH-AWD-equipped Acura vehicles to top one million in 2019, with more than 925,000 sold to-date
Acura is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its industry-leading Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) technology with
that illustrates SH-AWD®'s performance prowess and unique history. Acura's groundbreaking SH-AWD® technology has long set the bar for performance-enhancing torque vectoring AWD and is now offered on 5 of 6 Acura models in either mechanical (SH-AWD) or electric (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) form. Additionally, Acura will surpass the one-million mark in global sales of SH-AWD®-equipped vehicles later this year.

In 2004, the first generation of Acura SH-AWD debuted on the 2005 RL sedan as the world's first torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. The technology, which dynamically distributes engine torque for enhanced handling and cornering performance, has been continuously advanced through multiple generations of development and deployed on Acura's most popular models. The newest and most powerful generation of mechanical Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) debuted on the 2019 RDX in June 2018, boasting 40 percent more torque capacity at the rear axle, quicker front-to-rear torque transfer and 30 percent quicker transfer of torque between the left and right rear wheels. Acura SH-AWD was expanded into the electrified realm with the launch of Sport Hybrid SH-AWD in the 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid. This was followed by the 2nd generation NSX, the only electrified supercar on sale today, and 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid. Sport Hybrid SH-AWD utilizes instantly available electric motor torque to elevate dynamic performance and efficiency. The Acura MDX and RLX apply a rear-mounted Twin Motor Unit (TMU) and front-mounted gas-electric hybrid engine, while the Acura NSX features a unique mid-engine sports car configuration with a front-mounted TMU. Despite configuration differences, all three Sport Hybrid models apply the same technology and utilize many of the same components across supercar, SUV and sedan.

Acura SH-AWD: Through the Years 1st Generation SH-AWDApplied on:
About:
RL (2005-2012)
The world's first all-wheel drive platform that actively and continually distributes torque not only to enhance traction, but also to elevate cornering performance. By overdriving the rear wheels SH-AWD can provide an inward yaw moment while accelerating into and through corners.2nd Generation SH-AWD
MDX (2007-2015)
RDX (2007-2012)
TL (2009-2014)
ZDX (2010-2013)

SH-AWD is enhanced with Hill Logic that automatically adjusts the front/rear torque split based on the grade of the underlying surface as well the integration of Vehicle Stability Assit (VSA) and, in 2009, Traction Control Systems (TCS). The rear differential is constantly overdriven by 1.7 percent.3rd Generation SH-AWD
MDX (2016-Present)
TLX (2015-Present)

The 3rd generation system utilizes a 25 percent lighter rear differential with reduced friction and increased yaw effect. The rear differential is constantly overdriven by 2.7 percent, providing a greater torque-vectoring effect across a broader spectrum of driving conditions to further enhance cornering capability.4th Generation SH-AWD
RDX (2019-Present)
The newest version of Acura's mechanical SH-AWD is more compact than before while offering 30 percent faster response and a 40 percent increase in maximum torque capacity.Sport Hybrid SH-AWD
RLX (2014-Present)
NSX (2017-Present)
MDX (2017-Present)

The 1st and still only electric torque-vectoring system in the world to enhance every element of dynamic performance – acceleration, braking and cornering – able to apply both positive and negative electric motor torque with instantaneous response on- and off-throttle.About Acura

Exclamation Pebble Beach

Acura to Reveal Its Sportiest Sedan Yet at 2019 Pebble Beach

The 2016 Precision concept will be the basis for a new production-ready Acura sedan concept, C/D has learned.

Acura
  • Acura will reveal a production-ready concept at Pebble Beach this summer that previews a slinky four-door flagship inspired by the Precision concept.
  • Next-gen versions of the TLX sedan and MDX crossover are both coming soon.
  • A second-generation ZDX crossover "coupe" could be in the pipeline, too.
Three years after tantalizing us with the Precision concept, Acura has yet to apply its sinewy design to its entire sextet of sedans, crossovers, and a supercar. The 2019 RDX crossover is the first full realization of the brand's Precision Crafted Performance design language, and aside from the NSX supercar, right now it's easily the best-looking new Acura. But that's about to change this summer.

Acura will reveal a production-ready concept at Pebble Beach that will strongly echo the Precision concept as a tribute to the best of Acura's past, Car and Driver has learned. Staring into the Precision's deep pool of red paint, we must wonder—as Acura is but a 34-year-old car company mostly constrained to our market—might one of its legendary nameplates return as the Legend reincarnate? It's not a ludicrous idea, although we won't hold our breath over the exact name. Signs, however, do point to a new production Acura sedan in the Precision concept's gorgeous "4-door coupe" form. This time, unlike what it did with the car that debuted at the 2016 Detroit auto show, Acura will be ready to build something like it.All-New TLX and MDX, but What Else Is Coming?

The next-gen TLX sedan and MDX crossover are on schedule, both likely for a late 2019 or early 2020 debut. During a small preview at the Acura Design Studio on Honda's Torrance, California, campus, we saw several mockups under cover with hook-shaped, extruded taillights poking out as on the Precision concept. Up front, vertical air intakes stretched to the corners, as on the RDX, will make their way onto both of these cars. Acura is still serious about a performance-oriented TLX Type S, which by our eyes will employ a ducktail spoiler like the new Toyota Supra, only whittled down enough to fit the profile of a refined luxury sedan.

Clifford AtiyehCar and Driver

We're uncertain where that leaves the RLX, Acura's supposed flagship that sold less than 2000 units last year, but our feelers suggest one of two things: The Pebble car could be an RLX replacement with a new name, or Acura will spread its ashes into the Pacific. What is clear is that sedans aren't dead at Acura.

The crossover craze hasn't escaped Acura designers, and to that end, a next-gen ZDX could make a return to the SUV coupe segment it helped define, albeit a few years too early, when it launched in 2009. Executives are looking at mockups and, as far as we can tell, liking what they see. With BMW and Mercedes-Benz in 4x4 coupe mode—and Infiniti and Lexus largely silent in this arena—the stage could reopen for a new ZDX since Acura discontinued it in 2013.

What's not up for debate is that Acura is becoming relevant again, particularly within its own company. Execs admit frustration over Acura's second-class treatment by Honda, which lately has reserved the newest innovations (like the Accord's 10-speed automatic transmission and infotainment, or the Civic Type R's turbo four) when the luxury division, by all logic, should be leading. But its cars are starting to look really good again. For Acura, Pebble Beach can't come soon enough.

"I think what we're doing right now, this is the beginning capability to do other things," Ikeda said in reference to the Performance Manufacturing Center. "And up until now, our manufacturer style has been kind of volume so what PMC brings for us is the ability to go small. And I could tell you as a design guy, we always wanted to do some special things and we were never able to do some of them."

The TLX PMC Edition really stands out in person, especially when parked next to an NSX of the same color. Acura has given the PMC Editon the sporty A-Spec Package, which adds in a bit of sporty flavor without drastically increasing the car's performance. That will come later with the return of Type-S.
Yeah, don't want to overload the TLX PMC edition with too much performance.

Well it’s essentially an A-Spec SH-AWD with the addition of the Advance package that’s hand built with some high end paint. A-Spec has never been a HP upgrade or a performance trim but mere a sport package. The Type-S trim has historically been the performance upgrade and we’ll be seeing that in a few months with the next generation TLX coming.

Where’ve you been? LOL. At the 2018 North American International Auto show, Acura announced the return of the Type-S trim (multiple models) and a dedicated, Acura exclusive V6 turbo. However, this article referred to it as a twin turbo V6 when its actually a single turbo setup. Its also an all new design so its not related to the J-Series or the NSX’s 3.5tt.

I don't get over to Car News or Acura's latest that often, so I need to check it out more.
Curious what the new V6 will be (DOHC/SOHC, VVT, VTEC,....), I suppose it'll be used by Honda's as well.

3.0 turbo V6, an all new iVTEC system, single turbo, DOHC, dual VTC, chain driven cams and its exclusive to Acura. Honda wont get a boosted V6.

Hallelujah, no more timing belt (I've replaced 27-28 in my life). What's the Honda world coming to

Sounds like a pretty impressive motor on paper, guessing Honda/Acura at some point had to come up with a V6 to replace/evolve the J-series which has served very well since 96.
Electrics are coming but there's still enough life in internal combustion motors for another generation. Figure this is for the Ody, Pilot, Passport, MDX, RLX, TLX.
Have to come around to Car News more often.

Certain 2018 and 2019 model year Hondas are now Amazon Key compatible.

The
Amazon Key in-car delivery service is slowly but surely rolling out to more and more connected vehicles. Honda and Acura are the latest to join the fold, and on Tuesday announced that Amazon Key is available for HondaLink and AcuraLink subscribers.

Amazon Key is included in the HondaLink Remote package, which costs $110 a year after a 3-month trial. In addition to Amazon Key, this tier of HondaLink includes remote vehicle start, remote lock/unlock, a geofence alert, speed alert, stolen vehicle locator and more, all through a handy smartphone app. Amazon Key is also included in the more robust HondaLink Concierge package ($260 a year), which adds personal assistant services to the aforementioned list.

Amazon Key isn't available on every new Honda, unfortunately -- just HondaLink-equipped Touring or Elite trim levels of these models:

An Acura representative told Roadshow the 2019 RDX will be the 1st of the luxury carmaker's vehicles to to get Amazon Key, and that "essentially everything new from here on out will be compatible."

So, how's it work? If you're an
Amazon Prime member, just download the Amazon Key app, select the year, make and model of your vehicle, and then enter your HondaLink credentials. Once you're set up, Honda's Amazon Key integration works just like it does anywhere else.

Select the "in-car" option when making a purchase, enter a delivery address, park your car within 2 blocks of said address and let Amazon do the rest. A delivery person can remotely unlock your vehicle, put the package in the car and lock it again. When the drop has been completed, you get a notification on your smartphone. Easy peasy.

Of course, Amazon Key isn't without its shortcomings. 3rd-party goods, heavy or large items and anything that requires a signature aren't eligible. Amazon Key also isn't available everywhere just yet, but if you live in

, you're probably covered.

Pass, not a fan of remote access to my home/vehicle for package delivery.
I usually get my stuff delivered to my office.

Unnecessary, especially with the Amazon Hub Lockers in the downtown areas.
