If the CL is cancelled in 2004, what kind of replacement would Acura/Honda give coupe fans? I prefer coupes over a sedan. 4 doors are just too passenger oriented to be a actual sports car. Atleast give us a worthy replacement, like a new Prelude, or even a 2 door TSX. Id buy one of those if there were no more CLs to buy.

As for the CL, this topic has been beaten to death on various threads. Read between the lines the car is dead, good bye no more.
If for some weird reason I'm wrong and Acura magically pulls a new CL out of their ass then I'll eat a pair of my underwear after i've been to the gym.

Of course the topic has been beaten to death...but the demise of the car that inspired this board is worth talking about. Like or not, the topic won't be going away anytime soon.

I'm just saying it would be nice if Honda brought back a sports car worthy of the Prelude legacy...then maybe beef it up a little and bring it over to Acura. I didn't know we could no longer dream on this board...sorry.

And i know people will talk about it and thats cool, bt im just tired of seeing a new thread every week saying " i just heard they are getting rid of it" like they are the first to break the news, if they did a search and posted in the previous started threads that would be totally cool.
but until then heres to hoping to teh return of the prelude.

Yeah, it would be nice if they just attached it to an existing thread instead of starting a new one as if it's new information. But whenever someone brings up late and lamented cars, I'm all over it (ie Prelude, Legend, etc).

screw the return of the prelude...Honda/Acura needs to bring back the LEGEND to the USDM in order to save its dimminsishing luxury status. Ofcouse I'm bias, but drive one and you will understand..one of the most well built Japanese cars ever.

I cannot agree more. Seeing a legend sedan or a coupe still commands a lot of attention and even in its last few years of production, I like the edginess it has and it still looks like a newer model car.

Personally, I like coupes because they're easy for me to get in and out and look sportier than sedans (I have a bad hip, so the extra door space the coupe offer works for me). If the CL-S was canceled, then I would consider the Accord coupe next time around.

Someone said in the S2000 forum that the S2000 will be cancelled after the 2004 season and a new sports car will debut with the Acura name at a more affordable price. Unconfirmed rumor though.

Acura needs to step up to the plate and come up with something worth while. Heck, take a couple of years off and give us something that kicks the 350z's ass as far as performance and looks. Call this the new prelude and then throw in some luxury and more power and throw it over to the acura line. just my two cents.

Not to beat a dead horse but the dealerships were notified 2 weeks ago about the end of life for the CL.
June will be the last month of production (not sure If I'm remembering the month correctly) When I dropped my car off to get the tranny fixed yesterday /w the tow truck. It was past the dealerships normal hours. So the owner was there along with a sales person waiting for me. He gave me all of the information....
:-(
So there's absolutely NO doubts to it now. Go ask your dealers. Anyone who doesn't know it either trying to sell whats left, or very clueless.
B.T.W Superior Acura in Overland Park, KS has to be one of the best dealerships that exist. Never had service this good before.

No, the dealers do know. They have been informed.
However they may or may not decide to tell anyone if they have a lot of CLS(s) left in their stock... Deals on the CLSs seem to be getting better and better

Well, If this is True it only means that ours cars will be worth more when people aren't able to go into their local dealership and pick one up or even test drive one for that matter. It only makes me want to take better care of mine...

I agree with Rufio. I bought my '03CLs last month. I didn't know it was the last production year..... and I couldn't have cared less. I traded an '00 TL in on the CL because I wanted the CL. Subtle, not exotic enough? Maybe, but I know one thing, it's a class act and anyone who knows anything about cars will know that the CL is more than it appears. To me it is a subtle 400SC and nothing less in quality or performance. They discontinued the 300 and 400SC and I still think they're hot.
Let them discontinue the CL. I've already got mine.

Dealers may have heard that the CL won't be out next year, but does that really mean that it is going away all together? I doubt it. The Acura line would have a HUGE gap if they didn't have a larger coupe than the RSX.

As far as RL vs. CL sales figures...well, the RL isn't designed to be a high volume car. The CL, however, is supposed to be selling more than it is.
