ViperLuke:
The '03 TL did not come in a manual. So you need to compare apples to apples. Since the auto is the only benchmark to compare the old TL to the new TL, you need to begin there. In fact, the old TL, new TL and auto Accord need to be compared to give you the relative differences in performance. I guess you could compare the Accord 6 speed coupe with the new TL, but that's not exactly an apples to apples comparison either.
From the weight to hp numbers, I don't expect to see much, if any improvement in acceleration and speed numbers in the new TL. I do expect a stiffer suspension and possibly better handling (probably similar feel to the TSX). But again, I'm really afraid that the balance will be thrown off by the bigger engine up front (could it be something like 65/35 instead of the 60/40 ratio on the TSX). Understeer may be a problem unless the Honda/Acura engineers have really beefed up and strengthened the front suspension components. I'd rather they compromise ride comfort for a more performance oriented suspention.

Good review, but the TL is heaver than I expected, the stereo is less powerful than the TSX's, and I thought that extra front center speaker would push the TL's speaker count to 9.
Anyway, thank goodness we get the LSD and the covered cupholders. I'm surprised the review made no mention of the Brembos...
Oh, the interior pic and the pic of the red sedan -- beautiful!
EDIT: BTW - everyone may want to save this article to disk for now -- it may not be here very long...

Consumerguide.com has a TL Sneak Peek.

2004 Acura TL
Acura's best-selling car is redesigned for 2004 with new styling, more power, and more standard safety features. The TL is based on the platform of the Accord sedan from parent-company Honda, but is larger, more luxurious, and more expensive. The '04 TL has virtually the same wheelbase as its 1999-2003 predecessor, but is 6.3 inches shorter in overall length. Interior dimensions change little. The sole engine is again a 3.2-liter V6, but it has 270 hp vs. 225 or 260 on previous TLs. The sport-oriented Type S model is dropped, succeeded by a 6-speed manual transmission version with a firmer suspension, Brembo-brand front brakes, and a limited-slip differential. Other TLs have a 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift gate. ABS and 17-inch wheels are standard; manual-transmission versions are available with high-performance tires vs. the standard all-season treads. The antiskid system previously reserved for the Type S is now included on all TLs. Front side airbags are standard and are joined for '04 by head-protecting curtain side airbags. Leather upholstery with heated front seats, aluminum interior trim, and a sunroof are standard. So is satellite radio and new CD/cassette audio system with an in-dash changer that plays CDs and DVD audio discs (but not DVD videos or MP3 discs). Other new features include Acura's HandsFreeLink, which can employ the audio system as a hands-free, wireless link to any cell phone in the vehicle. A navigation system with voice command is optional. Onstar assistance is no longer available. Also gone is the Acura CL, which was essentially a coupe version of the TL. Prices were unavailable in time for this report, but Acura says the '04 TL will range between $30,000-$34,000, depending on model.

Ok They Pointed out the 6 MT has a firmer suspension and brembo brakes in front and LSD..
Why does the AUTO not have LSD?
They also pointed out that there will be no more Onstar, Whats the reason for that?
