'04 TL 0-60 & 1/4 mile times
I know at this point everything regarding 0-60 times is purely speculation. I'm just curious to hear what numbers people are expecting of the 5 speed auto & 6 speed manual transmission. When taking into consideration the weight of the new TL as well as the new drive by wire and supposedly improved (i.e. quicker) shifts of the SportShift tranny here are my best guesses:
6 speed manual:
0-60 in 5.8-6.1 seconds (maybe as low as 5.7 w/ A-Spec options)
1/4 mile in 14.4-14.8 seconds
5 speed SportShift automatic:
0-60 in 6.5-6.7 seconds
1/4 mile in 15.0-15.3 seconds
6 speed manual:
0-60 in 5.8-6.1 seconds (maybe as low as 5.7 w/ A-Spec options)
1/4 mile in 14.4-14.8 seconds
5 speed SportShift automatic:
0-60 in 6.5-6.7 seconds
1/4 mile in 15.0-15.3 seconds

60 - 0: 118ft
I would hope the 04TL 5AT would be close to that when new, and slightly better when broken in.

According to Car & Driver (10/03 issue that is on newsstands now), The 6-speed TL nav they tested ran 6.0 0-60 and 14.7 in the 1/4. The auto will likely add .5 or .7 at worst to those times.

I would guess it will be quicker than the current cls/tls auto. We'll have to see some dynos but according ot acura it has more torque from 3500rpm to redline and rated 10 horses higher which might be a low ball estimate giving hondas record over the last few cars. It also has larger rubber which will be benficial on the launch. Weight is negligible at a 50lb increase.

I think that those numbers from C/D will be pretty accurate from what I've researched into the car. All those factors like the extra HP, stickier rubber, and better tranny (even the extra couple of pounds) are all considered.
