% of TL's sold that are Type S?

Has anyone ever seen this data from Acura?

I'm curious because of all the disappointment on "just 270 hp" on the '04 TL. I guess I would be disappointed too if I had a Type S, but the boost from 225 hp to 270 hp is quite significant.

Don't know, but I can tell you that when I bought my TL-S (Feb. '02), clearly they were having more trouble moving the TL's, because they tried hard to get me to take one of those rather than the TL-S. It was pretty obnoxious.

Originally, when the 3.2 TL Type-S debuted back in 2002 along with the freshened 3.2 TL, Acura officials said that approximately 35% of buyers would opt for this $3500 sport package.

If you want, I can drag up the article, I have it somewhere. Keep in mind, though, this was when the freshened TL debuted and thsoe numbers are subject to change.

Good info. BTW actually the price difference is $2000 to $2400.

P.S. I mean in U.S. $.

The TL-S outsold the premium well enough to have Acura kill off the separate model designations. I guess that gives you an idea. Most people opted for the S for the extra couple grand.

Hmmm...well the percentage for carsdirect.com customers is:
59% for the 3.2
40% for the 3.2 Type S

Don't know what happened to the other 1% tho...:-)
