Why ELS in every Acura but the RL?
With most magazines voting that the top vehicle in their respective classes is usually the Acura when it comes to the ELS stereo. So why has Acura not switched the RL's audio offering from Bose to ELS? Please lets have a prolific debate here. I've worked at my local Honda/Acura deaership in the past for 2 yrs and never once thought to listen to the RL stereo to compare for myself. Even the wattage is way down in (Bose 230watts vs. 410-430watts in ELS) so is it that most new RL buyers being in mid 40's and up listen to music that wouldn't require so much power and intesity that a TSX/TL (for example) would require since those vehicles are bought buy a hip-hop/rock/r&b crowd (20's-40's) to the Jazz/Classical crowd (mid 40's-50's)? This is deep I know but I love deep educated dialogue and opinions...lol.

Because old people (RL buyers) are still under the impression that Bose is the best stereo system available.
I doubt that's the real reason but it's amazing to me how many people ask if the TL/TSX/MDX etc is Bose because they think that is the best system out there. Many years back I sold an RL to the VP of Boston Acoustics, his statement was, "no highs, no lows, must be a Bose".

Ironic because the only two Bose car stereo systems to have actual highs and lows are the 1st and 2nd generation RLs. The '91 - '95 Legend Bose system was quite good too, especially for its time.

I have, it IS 'weaker' and in my opinion the 2nd gen RL bass is inferior to the 3rd and especially 4th generation TL which has a strong but tight bass.
