whats ur opinion....
whats louder on a JL W3 V2 D2:
200 watts at 1 ohm or 400 watts at 4 ohms
Now the reason i ask is that my amp, hifonics nemisis is 2 X 200Watts but i can only run the W3 on one channel if its wired parralle but it will only push 200 Watts at 1 Ohm, but if i wired the W3 as a series then it would pushed at 400Watts at 4 Ohms, whats louder regard the fact the lower the ohm the better but the more the wattage the better. What do you think?

OK, hold on a minute.
First off, you don't even say which woofer you are using. You just named a series.
Secondly, the amount of power will affect loudness, and 400 watts is louder than 200 watts, by 3dB. Or, not that much louder.
But changing the amp power does zippo zilch nada (big goose egg) to the characteristics of the woofer. How it sounds on 200W is how it sounds on 400W, EXCEPT when the 200W amp is running out of power. That's the only time you'll hear a diff.
The box has 10X more to do with your subjective listnening characteristics than the amount of power does.

Ding Ding Ding! : )
So all things being equal (which they never are : ) you want 400W.
But as far as how the bass will sound, that's the box. I suspect that woofer will sound deep and loud but not real tight in that box. The 400w amp will keep it tighter, hopefully, but I have a JL ported Stealthbox in my Honda and I'm not thrilled with it.
