whats the deepest depth speakers you can have in a 2nd gen tl?

whats the deepest depth speakers you can have in a 2nd gen tl?

looking to replace my speakers. need ideas. the one diy said 2.25 inches deep. but it didn't say if they were the deepest. thanks

My resources say 3.25", which seems a bit deep, but remember, you have 1" of room for a spacer in front.

The bigger issue is the hole diameter.

well the diy said to make a 3/4 inch spacer i think. but if i flush mount it with out the spacer what kinda numbers am i looking at. some of my friends that work at a circuit city say that there isn't usually enough room for a good component set up fron twith out kick panels. so what is every one running for components up front is my next question
