ok so what about adding aftermarket subs but keep the stock HU and speakers? dammit...why is this so complicated. *shakes fist at Bose*

 

its been done... do a search... but i image it is the same as keeping the headunit and replacing all speakers execpt you only have to tap into the sub sig....
