Water in the doors...
I'm presently replacing the Bose crap with aftermarket equipment. In doing so, I'm tackling several problems. Among this list is water in the doors. It rained one day and I noticed water flicking in the cabin of the car. I was driving with the door panels removed and no speakers or plastic sheeting in the doors. It is my assumption that the pressure differential between the inside and outside of the car causes the water that puddles on the treshold of the bottom door frame to get sucked up through the ventilation holes on the bottom of the door. This may cause problems later on if the new speakers get wet. I'm going to place the plastic sheet back on and hope this fixes the problem. Does anyone have a similar experience?

I believe that plastic barier AKA moisture barrier should take care of it. Water will not actually hurt your aftermarket speakers - most are made from something other than paper like stock. Just make sure to cover your connections with a shrink wrap or something else then you should be all good.
