Anyone here ever look into (or know anyone who did) using the touch screen for other purposes - I would love to be able to put a computer in the trunk and use the touch screen to control the mp3 player, etc..

Also, anyone know if its possible to get to any of the internals (meaning edit files for the OS) of the nav system, or is it stored in ROM? If it was stored on the hard drive I was hoping to read it off of a lap top, get rid of that stupid warning when you boot it, and put it back on the hard drive. I realize this is probably an overly ambitious project but I was thinking depending on how things are configured it could be done. I guess I'm really just asking for any info on the nav system - does it use an OS, all firmware, etc...

i dont know about the navi but i know austin519 on the other acura site (**********.com) is doing exactly what you are talking about with the touch screen and computer... you might want to drop him a line i know that he has done his homework on it and can probably help you out...
