The Mitsubishi Electronics is separate from their Automotive division, regardless if they were offered or not on their own cars. Honda actually makes electronic components as well... I was able to find electronic connector plugs.

Wow -- how'd you know that, Mod?

Amazing -- anything we ask, somebody here knows about it.

Except if it's a question about Nav.

Quick history lesson-

The Original "Mitsubishi" was a huge mega-conglomerate before WWII. After the U.S. dropped the bomb and subsequently rebuilt the country into a democracy, they split Mitsubishi into 200 different independent companies. Today, a good number of them are still operating, and 40 of them actually still carry the name Mitsubishi.

MELCO (Mitsu Electric) and Mitsu Motors are strategic partners, but are nonetheless two different companies. In the past, MELCO has supplied a lot of engine control units to Honda, and also does a ton of business with DiamlerChrysler.

Bingo. For another example, check Hyundai in Korea. They make heavy equipment, electronics, cars, etc. Largest company in Korea.

I work for a Printing company, and the Inkjet paper we buy is actually made by Mitsubishi. Pretty good quality and much cheaper than OEM Epson paper. I was surprised at the range of products they offer.

Hyundai? From personal experience, i have used Hyundai, and Samsung ram in the past. To be perfectly honest, they are really bad. My company built and distributed about 200 PC's throughout a scattered area. We had to use Samsung at the time because the other brands were out of stock that we usually used and we needed them asap so we decided to give them a try. Then about 2 weeks later, customers started calling in about problems with thier computers. We sent all our techs out and no one could find the problem. Then one of the techs suggested trying to change the ram out of one of the machines to see if that fixed the problem. It did fix the problem, and it turned out that the soldering used on the Ram from Samsung had melted causing the ram to run unstable. Man... we had to go back out and swap out ram for 200 pc;s. I will NEVER use Samsung ram again.

At first i gave Samsung the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a defect of that one batch. But then the other day i was at a big screen TV store. I was looking at the digital HDTV's. I them compared a samsung to a toshiba and holy crap! The samsung TV's had very poor clarity. Both tv's were the same specs, and same size. Man... i dunno... then the receptionist at my office asked me to take a look at a problem with her car. It was making a noise. The car drove like it was 8 years old. It was only a 2000. I dunno... based on my personal experience, i seem to have trouble liking Korean brands now. I'm not trying to bash or be prejudice, i'm just going by personal experience. Anyone experience anyhting like this with Korean brands? or do i just have a lot of bad luck?
