Thinking about this for a system, opinions?
Ok, I went on crutchfield.com and put together a whole system to see about what it would cost from them and this is what i came up with. How does this sound to you guys and what would you change? I chose all stuff from Alpine, only because I know that they're a good company, and i might as well keep it all the same...I'm trying to do a complete system for around $1,000, so I can't have the absolute best of everything. Anyways, here goes:
-Alpine CDE-9843 Headunit
-Alpine Type S SPS171A 6.5" 2-way component system
-Alpine MRP-M350 200W x 1 Amp
-Alpine Type R SPR-69LP 6 x 9 2-way speakers
-Alpine MRP-F240 40W x 4 Amp
-Alpine Type E SWE-1242 12" 4-ohm Component Sub
The whole thing came out to about $930

Jettison the rears and get a better sub and better fronts, going off of the Alpine reservation if required.
For instance, 170 X types are better, but if you drive a TSX, they don't fit without metal mods.

And if the midbass is coming from the back, it doesn't help. We gave up doing that in the 80's : )
It's louder... but it doesn't sound better.

I just got '06 TSX in RBP/5AT non Navi, About to upgrade stock speakers here's what i just bought MB Quarts QSC 216 Components, MB Quarts RCE 269, 2 Kickers Solo Barics L7 '06 model in 4ohms, 2 Rockford Fosgate P8002 going to bridge each amp to power each Solo Barics and 1 Rockford Fosgate P4004 to power up the Components and the RCE 269. Just wondering if that's too much power to the subs? the P8002's are rated 800 watts bridge since the Solo barics are 750w RMS 1500 Watts max. I don't want the bass to over power the components should i just get the bass blockers so i don't get the bass from the subs over powering the components? These will be professionally installed btw. I just need some input before i go ahead and get them put in.
