I finally talked to my Xtant rep to ask him why my order was taking so long. Apparently Xtant is out of stock on the 1001dx and he was waiting for the 1001x's to come out in Jan. to fill my order. I told him I would rather wait for the 2001x. So I should get my 604x next week but I need to do something different with my subs until the other amp comes in. I have 2 old Rockford fosgate power series 250.1's in the closet. I'm going to run one to each DVC Titanium 12. It will definetly have more power than my original plan but won't look as fluid. Atleast till the 2001x comes in. This week has just sucked. I also talked to my Klipsch rep and he told me my LF-12 is not going to be made and that I would probably have to wait another year before they have a replacement. ARRGH!!

Hey Crazedluni,

I'm looking at getting at the Xtant amps. Obviously, you like them, what other amps did you compare the Xtant to when deciding upon an amp!?

Xtant has been a really good company since it's birth. When I worked at Mobile Work's in Cali. I had my first interaction with both Xtant and Diamond Audio. The first Diamond Audio show car"Mustang Saleen Replica" was built at my shop using Xtant amps and my first impression was "what the hell are those?". While this car was in the shop I was a die hard Fosgate fan and as such experimented in Saleen with fosgate amps. I was finding that similarly rated amps from Xtant were out powering the Fosgate's. They tend to have bigger power supplies and have a little more balls.
Since Fosgate is now a Best Buy cheese ball brand I will never buy one of they're amps again. They blew they're whole image apart. They started making lesser quality amps at a mass production level. OOh well.
Another company that I considered was Precision Power. Very nice amps especially the power series. I have one PPI PC650 running my Grand Cherokee's system and it sounds great. The problem with them is that Tweeter doesnt carry them otherwise I probably would have considered them heavily.
Next in line was Eclipse. They had a strong running but in the end they were to small for my application. Eclipse makes my Titanium sub's but they don't really have an amp that can push them properly. They do have "The Beast" but it just doesnt do what the Xtant 1001dx or 2001x does even though it is rated @ 1100w.
There is plenty more amps that can power my sub's but I'm not to crazy for 1/4 stable application's.
Xtant also has many attenuator's and plug in module's for tuning right on the board so I dont have to complicate my wiring even more and risk contamination of the signal. I hate equalizer's and external crossover's. Why make it more complicated then it has to be.
Tweeter's just bought out DOW in your area. You should stop by and take a look.
OOOh and the reason I use Tweeter's is I get special discount's from Tweeter vendor's and if it break's I can take it to any Tweeter's and get a new one. Especially with how much abuse I put this stuff through in competition's.
