sub Install Question

Im trying to install an aftermarket sub and amp into my 03 TL-S. I disconnected the stock amp and spliced the wires and hooked it all up but im getting no sound. The amp turns on and off but it seems like theres no output from the amp to the sub (its not the amp, I tested it).

Also does the polarity on the spliced wires make a diffrence? like Blu/Grn = + and Orn/Blu= -?

Thanks

Umm...leave the stock amp connected...if you mean you splice an rca converter into the amp then all i can tell you is how i did it...you can either splice the converter into the wires at the stock amp, or make sure that the wires you are hooked into are those same ones...polarity should not matter, but no sound is cuz of whatever you did at the amp

ALso, do you mean no sound anywhere? or just at the aftermarket sub?

Well I disconnected the stock amp from behind the seat and spliced the brown wire and used those as input rca wires. I also spliced the orange wire and used it as a remote to turn on the amp. When I say no sound I mean just the aftermarket sub.

Oh, then you don't have the converter hooked up right...twist the both positives on the converter together, and splice into one speaker wire, and then twist both negatives together and splice in...do not use the brown wires...I never have...make sure you twist the correct wire together, NOT the same color...if you do then the converter will short out an melt...or catch on fire...I have had this happen to me...

For a remote wire, just hook a small wire into the ACC fuse in the fuse box under the dash, and run to the amp...the remote wire is very low power to turn the amp on...
