Sub and amp install at shop w/ problems

So I had a RF 300w punch w/ an JL 8 W3 w/ custom box installed to my stock headunit. It hit hard enough for me, I'm not a huge bass guy but when I turn it up I hear this loud popping sound...possibly coming from the sub itself...also my right driver door goes out when I turn the car off and restart...I have to turn the radio on and off and it comes back on as if its being shorted or something...I love how the box it small but it just seems too small...I'm taking it back tomorrow or sunday for the shop to get a look at it but was just being a little proactive...Also w/ this setup do I really need a cap...they talk me into it since I like to listen too the radio when the car is off...but I thought the yellow top would handle it? Help a newb out thanx

Id say to listen to the sub from the trunk and see if its popping, if not, if your car is a TSX, it may be the rear deck rattling or the trunk shocks.

A single 8" in a trunk is not capable of playing very loud at all. I suspect that your amp has the bass EQ turned up too far and you are bottoming out the woofer at times.

As far as the right driver door goes, I have no idea how they installed this into your car but it shouldn't have had anything to do with the front speaker circuit.

As mantioned above, it would be helpful if you mentioned what your car is.

My car is an 01 CLS, I have the bass EQ like 1/4 of the way up and the bass actually like-2 bars...I have the sound pulled too the front too and it still pops occassionally depending on different types of music like it sounds perfect on R&B and can get shitty on Hip hop...due to the popping a and rattles...My other question is will a headunit that controls the bass help my problem...like the alpine headunits that u can change the subwoofer volume seperate from that of ur speakers...because the controls on the Amp don't make a difference or maybe i'm deaf from all the loud music...

I removed the door to the trunk so my sub is mounted to the rear seat and plays right into the cabin...I was thinking about switching too a W7 so maybe it could play louder....and hold more power from the amp...I don't know....new too this...
