StreetEffectZ or any //Alpine JL people help......

I'm confused. I just installed an Alpine ERA-G320 that runs signal to my JL 300/4 powering my Focal 165K2's. I'm not sure how to set up the amp. Previously the amp was getting a low signal level from my CVA-1005 and now it's receiving 4 volts (or so it says) from the eq. The JL amp has a switch allowing you to select what the signal level is. The first setting is "low" 200mV-2V, the next setting is high which is for signals between 800 mV-8V. I assumed that I needed to set it to high but when I do this the volume does not get loud at all, even if the gain is turned up. It seems to sound louder/better set on low. Can anyone tell me how to set the switch and gain properly? Honestly the system sounded better before I added this damb thing anyway.

I have the same amp running in my MDX. I have an Eclipse 7002 indash screen with 5 volt preouts. Mine did exactly the same as yours. In the manual, it will tell you to expect this. I switched mine to high and had to turn the gains up a lot more to get the same volume but, that is what the manual says to do. I am not sure what it would hurt to leave it on low. However to get 4 volts it will have to be set on high. Hope that helps.
