Stock CD Player

...i have a 2000 TL and im having problems with the stock cd player. most of the time when i put a cd in it wont read it and spits it back out at me in 3 seconds. somtimes it will play certain cds, and a few cds play with no problem at all. i bought an auto cd lens cleaner and when i put it in the cd slot it did the same exact thing. it didnt even spin, just came right back out after like 3-5 secoonds. i thought it might not read cds if theyre too scratched but most of my cds are in near perfect condition and work in every other cd player i have and work in all of my firends cars. anyways has anyone else had a problem like this or can help me out? thanks...

Your next option would be to pull the player out of the car and clean the lens manually.

You will need a camera lens cleaning kit (lint free tissue and liquid cleaner) do not us canned air. Basically you remove the top of the CD player and locate the lens. Then with a drop of cleaner on the tissue carefully wipe the lens. Use a clean dry tissue to wipe the lens free of any residual cleaner. Do not put the lens cleaner directly on the lens since it is not tightly sealed. The lens floats just like a speaker cone so be genital.
If this doesn’t work you can try to have it serviced.

Never clean a lens with the power connected because if the laser starts you can damage your eyes.
