Steps on sanding metra kit
 
Can some please post the steps to make it match in a 2nd gen. TL. This may even be worthy of a sticky :D

its very easy...you just need some 200, 400, and either 600 or 800 grit WET sandpaper and some FLAT black spray paint.

Just like sanding wood, start with the lower grit paper and work your way up to the high grit stuff. Try to get most of the texture off with the 200 grit then smooth things out with the higher grits. After all the texture is off and the piece feels smooth (like the stock plastic) put a few coats of the spray paint on. You have to wait at least 1 hour between coats also, and wait longer than that before you touch it to install it (or you will have finger prints and/or you could easily scratch the paint and have to do it again - happend to me).

Mine looks nearly exactly like stock, even up close. (picture is kinda bad, but you get the idea)
