speaker installation

I've searched, but can't find any good instructions on how to replace the front and rear speakers on a 2nd Gen CL .... does the grill just pop off for the 6x9's?? How do I get the door panels off to access the components?? (don't want to break anything) Thanx!

to access the rear speakers, you need to remove two screws that are holding the grill from inside the trunk. once removed, pull or push the grills forward towards the front of the car from the passenger cabin then pop them up. you should see the 6x9 with 4 screws holding them down.

to remove the door panels, you'll first need to pop out the panel that holds the tweeters. there are two clips holding this peice. role down the windows then just pull on that triangular peice towards the inside of the car. next, you'll need to remove 2 screws. one is by the door handle. once you remove that screw you'll need to disassemble the door handle part by pushing the door handle part forward, removing the L-shaped bar and any wires harnesses connected to this peice. the second screw is right under the arm rest. you'll see a hole. you need a philips to remove the screw. once removed, starting from the bottom farthest from the front of the car, pull outward...slowly so as not to break any clips. slowly work your way to the front and top. ones all clips are popped out, slowly lift the door panel so the lip removes itslef from the window. then detach any wire harnesses connected to the door panel. done!! installation is the reverse of removal.
