Spare Tire Well...Install Amp?

Spare Tire Well...Install Amp?
Hello,
I want to do this install but see if I can make a little cleaner.
I would prefer not to see the gaps on either side of the amp (as in the examples below.)
I have never built any car audio projects but I have a lot of free time on my hands and access to tools.
Would like to tackle this project over the next week or so.
Please can anybody who has some experience lend a hand in what I could do or what I would need to pick up.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Noah

1/2 inch would be better... Also, if you wanna clean it up, try putting some kind of beauty panel over top of them. If you're going to do this, I would also cut out the area under the amps to help with cooling, since you're going to have the amps covered...

YES! Somebody knows what that is. 10 bonus points for you! The ZPA 0.5 in the pic was running a single 10W3. A little over-powered? Cha!
The purpose of mounting the amps there was to hide them. If you don't care to hide them then a "back of seat" install is the easiest. Amp cooling is often not an issue with most of these new amps. Older amps run much hotter and I've needed to install fans a few times.

How much space underneath would be needed for "cooling?"
Nah...not the seat back...that's what I have right now and I don't like it.
And can't go under the seats because I already have my crossovers installed there for each component.

I was just thinking to use the spare tire as a template to cut a round .5" MDF panel...
Sound good or are those gaps on each side good for cooling?
I have a new RF Mono Amp for the W3 and a 5 Channel Infinity AB Amp.
I think heat should be fine.

I wasn't going for any show quality install because nobody would ever look under the floor except me. I just cut the MDF to fit on the bottom of the floor without rocking. And to allow enough gap to run wires under the boards. There are a lot of bumps and curves. If you keep the footprint small and make a few round cuts you'll have no problem.
The Rockford amp will definitely not get hot. The Infinity amps do run a little warm but I would give it a go without fans. If that Infinity needs more air then throw in a fan or two.
