I had 2 Eclipse units from 1996 to 2003, the later being a 55430. Nice unit, sounded really good. Then it broke (Eclpise fixed it for free), but by then I was looking for an mp3 player. Picked up a Sony CDX-mp70 becasue Sony offered the only mp3 changer at that time - I immediately noticed the poor sound quality, but I liked having most of my mp3's in my car - so I got used to it. But the Sony broke last month and I got an Alpine installed. All I have to say is, The Alpine sounds so much better compared to the Sony. I'll never get another Sony again, whcih is too bad becasue their ES line sounded pretty good back in the 90's.
